I have an idea for a gametype for an arena-type map (literally, an arena) where I would like only one type of weapon to spawn for a period of time, then only another for a period of time, etc. OR for a particular weapon to only spawn once, then every 60 to 120 seconds one new weapon spawns. Is this possible to do?
There is only one possible way to make something like a weapon despawn: invasion. So for an arena, it is impossible
Well, this is probably not what you're going for but you could place, lets just say, 3 Snipers. Their spawn time is set with 60, 120, 180secs., but their "place at start" is at NO. so when 60, 120, and 180secs. pass by, the weapon will spawn. (i believe it can work like that) but then after like 2 mins. that weapon will spawn twice. The 60 and 120. (please correct me if i'm wrong) I don't know truthfully, as The Berb said, it could be impossible.
You could just have all your weapons on Respawn: Never and spawn them sequentially (30sec, 60sec, 90sec, etc.) with just enough ammo to last until the next "weapon drop", essentially forcing the player to abandon his current weapon when the next one spawns.

The plan is to have an arena type map - mostly open, flat terrain with just enough geometry to be used for obstacles, to dodge behind, etc. Everyone will start with either the sword and dodge or the grav hammer and sprint, but the plan is for a single "power" weapon to spawn (with just a small amount of ammo) after a minute or two, then another minute or two later a different one, etc. to draw everyone to the center (trying to stay close to the spawn) and to mix up the gameplay a little. There will be no shields, but health and weapon damage will be adjusted so it takes a few strikes to kill. The goal is for it to feel like a big, chaotic, gladiatorial battle.
I'm no expert, but you could possible have a KoTH gametype where the initial hill covers the entire map. Make this hill so it doesn't spawn at start and has a, lets say, 60 second respawn time on it. You can make the player's primary weapon swords using the base player traits and then when the hill spawns you can use the hill traits option so that player's primary weapon are then switched to gravity hammers. Only problem with that is kills don't add points and the game would go on forever...
