Im currently making an invasion map called ages of war, where in the 3 phases you go through the 3 major areas of war in the history of mankind. What 3 stages do you guys suggest? I was thinking cavemen, knights and then modern war, but what do you all suggest? Edit: alright; so here are my phases: midevil with a castle siege, modern which i am not sure what the attackers should do, But now for the final phase I am not sure whether to be an apocalyptic future or a space alien future? Opinions? As well as all this, I plan on updating this thread to get each and everyone of your opinions on each part of the map. If you feel it should be in a different location, something should be added or taken away, please feel free to tell. I plan to have the medieval section done by Friday night. I think you should use melee weapons, human weapons and then alien weapons, to simulate Midievel, current, and future warfare. Two melee stages seems like a bad idea IMO.
wow. thats a really good idea (don't worry, I won't steal it ) I would agree with Pino. Keeping the same weapons for two tiers would take away from the evolution feeling. On a side note: I would suggest making the map itself evolve as well: start with the assault on a medieval castle, then move onto breaching a normal building, the final one being an attack on some futuristic ships.
Thanks guys! Also, instead of doing something like future warfare, what if at the end of tier 2 bombs were dropped (nuke) and it went into like future apocolyptic time?
Perhaps, caveman era w/ rocks. followed by medieval or feudal japan? Last should be some type of futuristic place I'd agree. Think about feudal japan or cavemen though. You have to think about what architecture you could make w/ the forge tools you are given.
Yea, I have my basic ideas. Midevil with a castle siege or takeover, a modern based assault such as clearing out a dock or capturing a set of deadly weapons, or something., but should third phase be apocalyptic or like spacey future?
