Bailout

    Alright, so me and my friend got back into playing Modern Warfare 2 again, and I thought it would be fun to forge and play Bailout Reach style. For those who haven't played this map, its a asymmetrical map that's within an apartment complex. (here's some information on the map if wanted HERE) The idea is to get the layout of the map since the detail is impossible to get.(trees, cars, etc.) Sadly i can't get/find any good pictures to show a preview of the actual COD map...

    For game play of the map, the game types i think would work for this is Team Slayer, Territories, Capture the Flag and Assault. From what i have thought out so far, the Initial spawns would be the same in COD, One team on a upper level in a parking lot, and the other on the opposite side by the pool.

    I will keep this updated, and show my progress for everyone. Any feed back would be nice and needed. Some ideas for aesthetics would be great, along with areas to add/cut out for smoother game play. Thanks!

    Credit goes to Erupt for makings a good amount of stuff in the "Green Building". Thanks to him, the room on the long walkway is less campable and has great windows/doors. Along with idea of "Latter".

    i'm not that keen on cod, nor the style of the maps.

    To me, when they set out to make a map they go "aww, smeg gameplay, lets just put in a few buildings, make them stupidly campable and add some graffiti because its cool" and thats it.

    I wouldn't recommend doing any cod things. You COULD use the style as a basis for it, and turn it into your own, and make it, well, you nkow, not suck (unlike ervery single cod map in existancde)

    well yea, i was planning on getting the layout. I want it to run smoothly, and not completely campable. Like for most of the buildings, i'll take out a pretty good amount of walls so you can't just sit in a corner, make some stairs/slopes wider for a better view, and add some little things to keep it appealing.

    I suppose if you took the same basic layout/design, but built your own map off it it could be quite cool. That said, I hate MW2 almost as much as I hate armor lock...

    Do you really dislike it that much? It wasn't that bad of a game when it came out, it was when people started to exploit things that made it worse.

    But this is a pretty good idea. Bailout wasn't one of my favorite maps, except for my cross-map noob-tubing (Ahh, good times). But I was going to say that the buildings were pretty campable, but you seem to have an idea to fix that already. If this is going to be a re-imagination of Bailout, rather than a remake, I would probably like it better.

    COD style? Eh. Call of Duty maps are not the best for halo.

    nah, COD maps and halo just don't go. Take the COD zombie maps. Every has quit within 5 minutes.

    If you keep to that way of the same base layout but add some new buildings, then it might be good.

    Well despite the negativity to the map creation, im still going to go at it lol A new picture is added. (I took two, but only one showed up on bungie, and i dont have the time right now)

    Looks pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to playing this. Are you going for an exact replica? Or a reimagination?

    Looks like a good start. This is the first cod inspired map iv seen so far. You could go both ways with is map. Slayer and object map or a aesthetic map.

    If your doing a remake, one-way shields would work for the ladder. And if it's just a reimagination, you could use "ladders" to make more entrances into a house to negate certain areas from being to camp-able. I'm just shooting out ideas, though, really. Good luck! Oh, and make sure you make CoD gametypes to play on it! Sadly, Headquarters won't be possible, but Demolition, Search and Destroy, Sabotage and Domination at least. :) You could even get rid of shields to make it more CoD if you'd like.

    Well, so far a reimagination. With what i have, it felt i needed to add some more cuz of the line of sights.

    Well im planning on going with a slayer/objective map. So far i dont think i can make it a nice aesthetic map

    Actaully, yes, that is a really good idea Erupt :) im glad you're shooting out ideas. SWAT might be something interesting, but i could try to make some CoD gametypes. if you somehow find something for headquarters, let me know!

    Also to explain the mongoose i have in the picture, with the roads in the CoD map, i thought it would be cool to have 1-2 mongooses to roam around the street for fun/quick location movements/flag cap'ing

    I thought, asked, and tested for about a week and it would be impossible to make an exact replica of Headquarters. I could make a partial one though, maybe. Let me know and I'll start messing around again. And the mongooses are probably a great idea since Bailout was more of a 6v6, plus CoD has a little bit faster movement than Halo. Anyways, can't wait to play it! You better show me what you've got so far next time we're both online! I like what I see so far.

    Not sure how fond I am of the falcon or the sunroof room (?) But everything else looks amazing. l Can't wait to play it. :)

    Well with the falcon, i wanted to add that for aesthetics, but if people keep trying to go for it(it has a soft/hard kill around it) ill just take it out. I'll get more money out of if. The sunroof room has a a sunroof in the actual map, so i tried it. The rest of it is pretty bland, and if someone gets an idea, let me know.
