So on monday I bought a wired 360 controller for my pc. I plugged it in, and it installed drivers. Works great.

This model except its made by gamestop.

Then I heard that the 360 wired mics will work as a mic if you plug it in to your controller on pc.

    So I bought this

It auto installed drivers. I downloaded the controller software from microsoft via here-
    Software Download
    I filled it out with...

    Type of product
    controller

    Select you product
    xbox360 controller for windows

    Operating system
    windows 32 bit

    english

    Then i downloaded it...

    Installed perfect...

But none of the voice recording programs record my voice.

What can i Do so i can record voice using the 360 mic.

Type Device Manager into the search bar, then search for voice devices, check if the mic is there, click propeties, make sure the drivers are installed correctly and that the device is enabled. Then go to the playback and recording devices prompt screen, make the headset as the default recording device. Then go into the recording program and make sure that the headset is selected as the recording device.

Otherwise, you may have to download drivers specific for the headset.
