This is my third invasion map to recreate a campain level... Covenant Cruiser Invasion and Covenant Corvette Invasion are my other two... This map is based of the Halo 3 mission The Ark...this is made from the middle of the mission when Master Cheif tries to get into the large structure... Phase 1: Time: 5 minutes Timer: 20 seconds Time Defence: 10 seconds The Spartans will spawn with several warthogs and must make their way to the large structure and capture the gate...while the elites spawn with with revenants and ghosts and try to stop the spartans... Phase 2: Time: 5 minutes Timer: 1 minute Time defence: 10 seconds After the Spartans have taken that point they must retreat to another point past the caves to gain reinforcments...The elites will spawn along the pathway with defencive structures, wraiths, revenants, and ghosts. Phase 3: Time: 5 minutes Timer: 30 seconds Time Defence: 10 seconds Njow the Spartans get extra fire power to go back to the main structure and take it...that power comes from the scorpoins that the ship drops off...the elites must once again try their best to hold off this point... hmmm... well, im very sorry to say, but theres not enough to work with as a functioning invasion map. the concept is amazing, and definitely needs to be done, but from what i can see of your map, there was barely any effort put into it. it needs less holes, more function, and look like a map people will play on.
The Ark was always one of my favorite missions in Halo 3 so I fully support the idea of this. How ever the idea of having to back track a whole level wouldn't make a lot of players happy. So perhaps instead of that making the teir structure something like: Teir 1: Disable one of two zones to make way for the ship to bring in reinforcements. Teir 2: Fight your way through the caves and do what ever you feel neccisary to place there to unlock the next teir, be it an assault round or capture the zones. Teir 3: Attack the main structure and do what ever it is you have to do there. That way there is a more linear style of gameplay that is more familair to the average player. That's just my personal feedback that you can ignore if you like it the way it is
Im sorry to disopoint the people that arent fond of the description of the map...but you should really test it first...the map has very solid gameplay...and even some aethstic value...honestly the thread doesnt do it justice ill say...the people that tested this map loved even the beta versions...Im not going to redo a done map just so you feel that the map should be more "linear"...creativity is also an aspect in gameplay not just some boring go to every objective in a staight line... Also for the first person...I can tell you havent tested it yet either becasue you are suggesting people would not want to play on it...and in all my testing only one person didnt like the map...the was effort put into it...look at the ship that spawns after phase 2 with the scorpions when you play the map and the main structure...sorry to disopoint you but aesthetics arent everything if the gameplay is bad...and this has good gameplay...
Ya anime i agree with you. The map isnt to bad. I was in your game a bit ago ( if u remember So Freeeeeeesh) The map was pretty good and i liked the clever idea of the ark. some parts seemed like you rushed forging, and the only other problem is the first phase was kind of hard if elites stole your gauss warthog (which happened a couple of times) but other than that nice forging. keep making invasion maps your good at it.
Thanks Legit poptart...I think I fixed the map even more by removing the conncussion rifle from the first phase so you need to redownload the gametype...believe me its for the best...
seems like a fun idea but I have some questions/suggestions. so the big ship just appears after the first phase? *poof* or did you manage to make that look smooth somehow? and the last structure of the map seems simply enough a little naked, as for the area around it. I think the structure would look alot better if you put some pillars benith the walkways and maybe put some covers up there as well. but as the other guys said. . . asthetics arent everything if the map plays well. just something to think about.
Hello anime. I have seen a few are commenting on not enough work into aesthetics. I do feel maybe a little could be added to make the map look better, but it wouldnt change gameplay , and thats where it matters. The gameplay on this invasion map is great fun, very challenging and rewarding if u win lol. The loadouts seemed balanced , although I felt 4 plasmas on 1 load out was little unfair. I enjoyed the gameplay and testing out the map, as have many others. Nice job

Thanks for the comments on the map...now to clear some things up... DeStarFighter- The ship does not spawn until yolu capture the second objective to give you some extra firepower...also the "last structure" is actually the first and last structure becasue you take it the first time and then go back to take it again...and the structure doesnt need cover becasue if you look at the map the structure is huge...you can tell this if you look and that the supports are made of 3 walkway bridges, the main walkway is collosiem walls, and the little dots are quite literaly the players...so I believe the map doesnt really need cover and there is only 65 cash left on the map...
