Hey guys, I've been absent from FH for quite a while due to me not having Live and not playing Reach, until recently. Now I have both! I used to forge in Halo 3 but this is my first attempt in Reach. I started working on it just yesterday so it's in the very early stages of development. Still I would like you guys's opinions and suggestions. Since I haven't been around the forums much since Reach came out I don't know the standards these days, so you might like it, or it might need lots of work. That is why I came to you all! Let me know what you guyz think.

I don't like to sketch out my map design beforehand, I'm more of the play-it-by-ear forger. But my general idea is to create a base-like feel along each of the canyon walls with walkways connecting them. I plan to create a very vertical style map with three to four different levels of playing elevation.

I will update this thread periodically when I get more of the map completed.

Sorry I just found the thread!
Any how first off let me say I love the aesthetics! You used a space in Forge World I rarely seen used because of the angle needed so kudos to you! I really like how you used the dishes and the walkways.
Now on to my critiques... The ramp 2x2 steeps could use some kind of aesthetic thing too make them more attractive and the hanging dish needs more connection points to the main structure (optional) to make it look more realistic...
But on the whole I love this map and you made great use of pieces not many people use for maps!

Ramp steeps also tend to be too steep for optimal gameplay. It tends to be that 30 degrees is the prime angle for ramps, since it doesn't obstruct too much of your view yet is still efficient at connecting two areas.
I'm not too sure about that middle structure. In all honestly, it seems like it could be a pretty overpowered camping spot. Given the height and overall portion of the map that it uses, there should be at least 4 or 5 entrances up to that area, preferably the latter.

Haha thanks, the map isn't finished yet though. I still have a long way to go. And the ramp steeps I just placed there as an idea so later I will add walkways and paths connecting to them

Yeah, I do realize that the ramp steeps are a little steep. I just used those for temporary placement purposes. They are definitely subject to change when I begin working on that part of the map. Also, the middle structure you are referring to is actually more of a boundary of the map. That's as far to the right as the map is going to extend. And I took what you said about possible camping up there and added a couple of plasma batteries that can be shot at below the tower which hopefully should help prevent camping. Tell me what you think:

Also, here are some more shots of what I've been doing the past two days. Comments/critiques/suggestions would be great
