Bridge Base The Bridge Yes, there's a bridge... and no... that's not all there is. The bridge may be the visual centerpiece of this map, but trust me, there's so much more to see here. I've packed a lot of goodness into the bases that anchor each side of the gorge. Multiple paths into and out of each base, vehicles, and plenty of choice locations for snipers, mid-rangers and close quarters fans alike. By far the biggest map I've ever Forged, this asymmetrical map is perfect for larger scale conflicts, objective based games, or some good old fashioned Team Slayer. The inspiration for this map comes from some of the best maps in Halo's 3 year history. Think of it as a bit of Valhalla and Standoff mixed with a little bit of Narrows. No, it doesn't look like any of them, but it does borrow some of the design elements that made those maps great. Obviously, there's a big bridge in the middle. Hence the name. On each side of the bridge, you'll find a base. Architecturally, each base is different, but both have their own charm. The base in the pic below is a single level base with a covered bunker area just down the hill out in front of it. Each base has access to 4 Mongeese and a standard Warthog. On the cliff side of the bridge, you'll notice that the base has multiple levels. The mid level gives you a great vantage point overlooking the bridge. For an even better view, the uppermost level is accessible via the mancannon atop the tower on the left side of the base, or via the ramped staircase that works its way up the cliff on the right side of the base... These two routes up to the top give players options, and also help to keep any snipers from getting too comfortable up top, ya know? Back down on the ground level, on each side of the bridge is guarded by a turret, which can be a great deterrent against any vehicles that come charging across the bridge. (Particularly handy for Capture the Flag or Assault games.) But wait, you say. "Won't I get shredded out there in the open on that bridge?" Well, yes, that's a possibility. But like Halo 3's Narrows, you can also make your way from side to side by traveling under the bridge. So there it is. Have at it. It's set up for almost every gametype, so whether Slayer, CTF, KoTH, Juggernaut, Headhunter, Oddball, Territories or Infection is your thing, you should be all set up for a good time. Oh, one other thing. If you fall off, you'll die before you hit the ground. Something to keep in mind. Let me know what ya think friends. -Shamrock20
this map looks awesome! the bridge looks great, the bases are amazing. the layout of the map seems perfect for this map. cant even come up with some constructive criticism. really awesome man! and oh, did I mention that I think the map looks awesome?
I kinda rushed this posting originally, so I've updated it with a few more pictures and an improved description.
Why is this only in casual? if it supports all or most gametypes it very well deserves to be in competitive... great looking map though.
This map has aesthetics however there is only one route from each base and Im would like to know the weapons on the map...
You've got my DL, and thats saying a lot because Im very selective when downloading maps (and even more so on which to keep). So Im just letting you know I downloaded this map for several reasons: it has a very original feel to it it has a nice base to base feel to it great use of terrain it could potentially be good for gametypes like team snipers, infection, etc
While yes, the bridge is the only way to cross the ravine (which was my intention), there are actually multiple ways to attack each base once you make your way across (or under) the bridge. It might not be apparent from the pics, but there's a rock tunnel that leads into the right side of the single-story base, and on the opposite side of the bridge, there's a tunnel to the left that allows you to sneak under and around the tower portion of the base. Ah yes... forgot to include this. Sorry about that. DMRs & Needle Rifles (A few on each side, near or in each base) Frag & Plasma Grenades (Dispersed around the map) 2x Plasma Pistol (1 on each side of the bridge, by the crates) 2x Shotgun (1 below the bridge, 1 in the tunnel below the tower) 2x Needler (1 near single-story base lower bunker, 1 on Cliff Base mid-level) 2x Sniper Rifle (1 on Cliff Base 3rd level, 1 in single-story base tower) 2x Machine Gun Turret (1 on each side of the bridge) 1x Energy Sword (Under the bridge, in the middle) 1x Rocket Launcher (Middle of the bridge, by the camping stool) 1x Plasma Launcher (In the lower bunker area of single story base) 1x Spartan Laser (On the ramp walkway leading to 3rd level of Cliff Base) 1x Gravity Hammer (In the rock tunnel leading to single-story base)
Nachus, Again, great feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to provide a detailed assessment of the map. As I pointed out in the Competitive Forum, I do agree with many of your points. However, in this particular Forum, where a more casual experience is the norm, I'm not quite as concerned. The map may skew a little heavy on power weapons, but really that's just because that's what my friends and I are into when we're just casually throwing down in a little team slayer or free for all action. You should have seen it before... in a previous version the warthog had a gauss cannon. I removed it because it was just way too overpowered. (Much to the dismay of one of my pals. He loves him some gauss cannon.)
You have my DL definitely This map looks epic and it reminded my of the scene out of saving private ryan good job!
This map is great it's look when I spawned and looked out a window felt like I was in a different game alltogether. The traffic cones by the side of the cliff is hilarious and the hallway makes me want to steal the bomb place it near there and camp a shotgun while everyone goes for the bomb lol. Nice map I love it, keep up the good work bro.
I think my friends are stealing your ideas. I just had something like this happen to me yesterday. I ventured into the secret tunnel only to run face first into a cloaked enemy and a shotgun blast to the face. Of course, he found out that while the tunnel does make a great shotty spot, it's not exactly a good camping location. I went back and chucked a few grenades in there with him and he got blasted out the other side... right into the parking cones marking the cliff's edge. Glad you like the map. Thanks for the feedback.
