Flying Fox Well here it is, after much testing and a big thanks to Testers Guild for this one. Ill say my thanks first so here goes, Thanks to MattKestrel, Nexus Is Mental, DeStarfighter, Zebrasoma, FilthyCabin, Tekno Bish and anyone else who helped or played on the map! I've made some changes for the official release. I have done a minor test for it but am pretty confident it is going to work and have an overall feeling the map is complete. This is my entrant for the Throwdown 2v2 competition, There is a seperate map for the Throwdown competition due to the nature of the game type and I wanted to put in armor abilities across the map but didn't want that on the "official" map. I actually started building this map with the intention of building different types of "bases" for the 2v2 Throwdown, I actually only built the blue base and then made it symmetrical on both sides and before I knew it I threw all my ideas together and came out with this. The map features a "zip line" hence the name of the map and it actually comes into gameplay quite characteristically. Okay so here is a weapon list before I forget! Weapon list: 1xSniper - 100sec - 2 spare clips 1xShotgun -80sec - 1 spare clip 1xConcussion Rifle - 80sec - 2 spare clips 2xNeedler - 60sec - 2 spare clips 2xSpiker - 60sec - 2 spare clips 2xPlasma Pistol 2xMagnum 3xNeedle Rifles 6xDMRs 4xFrag Grenades 6xPlasma Grenades 2xPlasma Batterys - 80sec respawn 4xFusion Coils - 90sec respawn Throwdown Armor Abilities 2x Hologram 1xEvade 2xSprint 1xCamo Supported Gametypes Team Slayer, Capture The Flag, Assault, King Of The Hill, Odd Ball, Territories, Stockpile, Headhunter, Juggernaught Map Facts Great for quick Capture The Flag/Assault games. Also good for a tactical 2v2 match. 4v4 is a bit heavy but still fun. Map Overview Including weapon and map layout. Map Pictures The zip line from below The map from the shotgun and back of zip line Looking to the centre and the gravity lift up to the sniper Action shots View down the corridor of the red base, blue is the same but back to front Crazy king game Zip line in throwdown version of the map Top of the sniper tower, this is actually an old photo only difference is there is a window behind the sniper spawn. This is a really interesting and fun map to play on. As you see on the credits ^^ I DeStarfighter have been there helping testing this map from the start Its quite a lot of things I like with this map so its kind of hard to know where to start. Well first off, the bases and the general layout makes this map extremely balanced with alot of ways to get around, open enough to have some good combat but still enough cover to let the players escape or hide during “close calls” With that said the map seems good enough but wait! Theres more? This is actually the first map where I’ve seen the “zip line” fit in perfectly. Its smooth, looks good and have a nice purpose to be in the map. Also theres this lift by the pyramid piece that I think is a really good lift, maybe its not that special but I really like it. The weapons on the map are great, always nice when people avoid rocket launchers etc. on a fairly small map. The game types I played on this map yet are Team Slayer, Capture The Flag and of course the 2 vs 2 FHT game type and I think they all worked great. My favourite has to be CTF actually. . . not that it was anything wrong with the slayer game types, I just enjoyed that it showed to be a pretty original CTF feel of it. Don’t really know how to explain it, it was just different and AWESOME! I wouldn’t be chocked if this map went all the way and won the fht contest, even tough I want my map to win (seems I got some competition) The only criticism I would have given it was that I couldn’t make some of the jumps, but you fixed that as well. . . Simply an original map that you want to play over and over again. Nice work!
Thanks a lot for the comments man and coming from one of the smartest forgers I've seen they mean a lot. I'm very happy with the changes I made as it fixed the little problems the map had! Im excited to start testing your next map! See you soon
You know what. I might do a remix of this, with your permission of course. The maps was great fun to play on and the zipline was fantastic, but something about your aesthetic theming makes me want to work on it out of curiousity.
You can definately have a go man, but since your a good forger yourself I'm scared you smash my version into oblivion haha.
I've played this map a number of times now over the past couple of weeks and I'm really impressed. Its a hell of a lot of fun to play, only played CTF, FFA and TS on it so far but it always works well. Definately worth sparing a while for a quick playthrough. Excellent work CT
Well cheers man, and thanks for your help in testing etc. It was fun. We should play all gametypes on there haha. Thanks for your opinions on the changes i made throughout too.
That zipline is awesome! Whenever I make one I fall off but you have it perfect. I also love the layout of the map; it is the perfect median between an arena and a team map. Keep up the good work!
A while back, i played this as part of a testers guild test. It was pretty fun with the throwdown settings, but when we played it last night(?) i was dominated because of the over use of the jet pack, while i always used sprint. So in my opinion, i think this map is great for 2v2 throwdown. The "zipline" was pretty cool, i believe i failed on it once and fell to my death...Also, i dont know if it was entended or anything, but on the long sides of the map, you were able to get up on top. Maybe add a soft kill(if not done) so people dont decide to just camp up there. good job though., fun to play for throwdown.
