Sacred is a bit big, symmetrical and enclosed map mostly made for close and mid range battle. I got my inspiration for it from the featured map "Rise" by Solo and Sethiroth as u probably can see in the 6th and the 2nd to last screenshot. It is compatible with Bro Slayer and multi team. I guess it would be best for 4v4 objective games. guessing because i have only played one game of 6v6 team slayer on it. Weapons DMR x4 Needle Rifle x2 Magnum x2 Plasma Pistol x2 Shotgun x2 Sniper (Neutral) Energy Sword (Neutral) Rocket launcher (Neutral) Plasma Grenade x6 Frag Grenade x2 Health Pack x5 BTW does characters = letters? cuz i have no intention of counting to see if i have 500 letters here. Maybe i should just keep writing. Well, the map plays well and theres little to none framerate problems. Blue base - red is exactly the same Check out my walkthrough on YouTube. Im new here so idk much about links here and such. YouTube - [Map walkthrough] Sacred - by Da Comedian Thanks for checking it out and I hope you like it =)
Congratulations on your contribution! This is a very nicely made map for someone so new. One thing I may suggest is setting up the map for more gametypes.
Thanks Epolixa. I may put in more gametypes later =) lol jo takk masteryo, skal sjekke ut ban(an) din(e) etterhvert =)
The layout of this map works really well judging from the video. I wish I had some gameplay feedback but I don't have a group of players to start a party. One thing that is disappointing (and it's not really your fault) is the dull gray objects throughout the map. Because everything is covered by objects (walls, floors, ceilings) it looks like it can be hard to find your way around a perfectly symmetrical map. But once again, I think the layout & gameplay is where your map is going to shine. Aesthetics should always come last. I have a feeling your map will prove to play really well on a competitive stand point. The best way to tell the quality of your map is just having lots of testing on it. After players have had games on it a few times, they probably won't be confused at all of where they are on the map. I would recommend people to play this map and give it a chance. I'd love to hear what people would say after playing with a full group-- lots of fun and balanced I predict.
I agree with PeteTacular. You might want to get your thumbnail working though or many people might pass over even checking your map's thread out. To get a thumbnail to appear on the preview page, click edit @ the bottom of your initial post, click "go advanced." You'll see an input area for your thumbnail just above the main body of text for your thread. In this space, copy and paste the link from one of the images in the main body of the thread, but be sure to omit the parts at the beginning and end. Click save @ the bottom and your thumbnail will show up in the preview page. I might suggest creating another picture, though, the ones you are showing, while informative of layout etc., don't really draw the viewer into your map. It was your video that really made me interested in your map. For people just browsing through the preview page, though, you will need an image which will capture their interest quickly by identifying the map as something they need to see more of. I'm not sure what that image should be because your map is very much function over aesthetics (in a good way). Because of that, though, you run into the completely blue/gray feeling of most maps. You need to find any view that somehow conveys something dynamic. Perhaps find your favorite view, then capture a few spartans running through it.
You may also want to post a new thumbnail without wording and photoshop effects. I just got a warning today for doing so on a map I posted a week ago. They said it's a new policy.
@petetacular 42, thanks for the feedback. good and fun gameplay was all i had in mind on this map. Wish I could take my map into photoshop and fix the grey-dullness lol. @leegeorgeton, i tried several screenshots but the ones im using came out best. thanks thou. Your post wil mos def help me in the future thou, so thanks. @frozenlynx, yea i got a warning too.
