This is a Canvas Map recommended for forge editing only.

I found this spot when i was exploring outside different map boundary's for interesting places to build a map, and boy did i find one.

In Forge World far out in the water. Behind the invisible map boundary that acts like a one way shield, but inside the permanent soft safe zone. Is a place of forger's dreams.

When you fall in the water here you don't die, you drop about 2M to a safe landing on a weird mirror like surface.

I have roughly traced the boundary's of the area with Colosseum walls. Inside the walls it is safe to go underwater. Outside the walls you die instantly or after ten seconds if you go underwater. You can delete the walls and it will still be safe, they are only to show the edges.

I think this find gives a new creative aspect to forge and hope to see many maps using it in the future.

Check out my map Facility #707

I personally mapped out the deepwater area myself not too long ago, and i found that you are about dead on to the size of the diving zone, as i call it. I actually built a seabase next to the walls, but ill have to wait till i can get a chance to get screenshots to show everybody. however, I felt i should add a little supplementary info from my own experimentation.

guns and nades work in the deep water.
wheeled vehicles work, but they have a tendancy to tip back, noses in the air.
covenant vehicles are useless underwater. the ghost and revenant anyway are. they both did flips underwater, and almost breached the surface, but they got absolutely nowhere. the wraith never got that much speed to do so.
movable objects will float up when disturbed, but will come back down again.
Propane tanks will still torpedo, which can end badly due to the water's affects on moving objects that are airborne. more testing needed for this bit.
you cant see very far at all. when your in the deep, the colliseum walls are near impossible to see till your on them.
Objects with reflective surfaces, such as blocks appear darker in the water, and are good markers.
    lights are visible underwater.
for a short period of time, till they settle, objects set to normal physics will float when dropped into the water.
flying vehicles havent been tested in the water.

WARNING: do not use missles of any type, the scorpion turret, or the wraith turret, while underwater. any weapon that fires a "tangible" projectile, like the warthog missle turret, scorpion turret, missles( I think, i dont remember for sure) or the wraith will explode immedeatly. the scorpion wont take as much damage, due to barrel length, but the water acts like a solid object, like a shield door, and will cause the projectile to explode on release, usually resulting in damage to the source.

I intend to test the air vehicles tomorrow, as well as dropping an ODST style drop pod into the water just to see. ill let everyone know what happens when i find out.

also, a side note, when your out in that same area, you can go all the way to the highest point within the bounds of forgeworld outside the bounds, but unlike inside the invisible barriers of forgeworld, if you go higher, theres a softkill zone.

another note. if you go out towards the large stone islands past the diving zone, the bottom of the lake rises till its above the surface of the water.
the mirrored surface you mentioned is an animated underwater seabed, which is what makes it appear like there are waves farther out.

Thanks for the added details, you gave a much better discription than me.

Sorry I didn't now it was already found, I searched key words like underwater or safe water but couldn't find any maps in that area so I posted it.

actually, to my knowledge, you are the first to post a canvas map of the underwater area in Forgehub at the least. I've not seen it on here, even after dredging the forums looking at all the epic (and the not so epic) maps. the underwater area has been used in maps before, sure, but because its outside the bounds of the regular Forgeworld Area, i dont think many people have really found it before, especially given the fact its really unmarked by anything in forge itself. its a fun place to mess with, but the lowered visibility make it hard to play in if there isnt some sort of guiding system built into it, such as using the reflective areas on objects to make guide arrows. im currently building a covie sub on the seabase map i built for an invasion style map. i have a ligth marking the dive area of the seabase for those underwater, but its still hit and miss with the stones ive placed under teh water to give cover. the compass is a huge thing to use, so you keep your bearings, but even with it, ive gotten lost underwater forging as i moved on foot plenty.

And to clarify, the submarine is actually on the surface of the water to make it possible to see inside, while the only way out, and onle view out for that matter is into the deep from the centeral exit port.

but as i said, i think most people dont know where it is, even if they know it exists, and for the mostpart, ive only ever heard of it being in or seen it personally in about three maps, which i cant seem to find right now, irritatingly. id list them if i find them. counting my own, which isnt out yet.

ok, the last of my testing took some unexpected time, but i have finished.

The Falcon can fly out of the water, and land back in it. it looks really scary to me to suddenly have an attack chopper come rising from the depths with two people on the turrets firing at you.

the Banshee works as well, able to dive the relatively small distance to the bottom, then surface, no problem. didnt test its bombs cause i forgot. im sorry folks.

My information appears to have been flawed, as i fired a rocket, and it worked. only from the launcher was tested though, so it may have been a fluke. try at your own risk.

the drop pod was interesting... i hit the bottom, but it was as a corpse. i died at the surface of the water, which could have been the drop pod, or it could have been the water. ill let you guys know when i retest when im able to actually play the game again. (Its on loan.)

golf balls, and soccer balls, sometimes float seemingly permanantly, until they are touched.

Not sure if i posted this warning in another post, since my computer is cutting off at some of the posts its displaying below, but Covenant Armor Selection actually has a minor gameplay effect that is really really important to any playing as one.

WARNING: Covenant Spec Ops Armor's Helmet has a black glass type Visor on the helmet, and it acts just like the glass on many objects. it is extremely dark in appearance underwater, and is very visible against the light blue color of the deep water. it makes headshots very easy for anyone who sees them, since seeing anyone without this helmet (Although i would like to test the spartan full face visor helmet i dont have access so...) is near impossible.

correction, I was the first to post this area as a canvas map but after I accidentally took it down from my small file share i haven't put it back up. There are also many maps for this zone already made mine being one of the first few. Mine was just a small competitive map called Atlantis downfall. I wish you well and your slightly wrong rockets go but they arc downwards they don't just explode. grenade launchers do to and the grenades will not bounce.

ah, i didnt notice the downward arc. and i corrected my information about the rocket not working at all in my last post. but as i said before, to my knowledge, he was the first. now to my knowledge, you were the first. as for the grenade bit, i dont think i thought to test them.
