Counter-Strike Map Replicas!!

    I've just recently made 2 replica maps, cs_assault & cs_crackhouse. working on 2 others at the moment.

    has anyone else made any replicas from cs?

    Check'em out! tell me what you think!

    cs_assault: was made pretty accurately, it was made to scale so even the running distances are about the same. The roof of the warehouse was made abit different to suit halo and what I had to work with but looks really good. The map sizing is abit Too much to scale, it seems slightly small for halo but its still great fun to play on and just to plain look at, cause it looks spot on imo ^.-. Overall I'd say its %97.1337 accurate. lol.

    cs_crackhouse: was made pretty accurately the whole area layout is exactly the same, it was scaled up abit to suit the room for running and jumping around halo needs, The actual Crack House layout is Slightly off, the rooms are alot larger and things were slightly simplified for halo making the corners less tight. The layout is still exactly the same, just slightly different. Over all I'd say its %94 accurate or so.

    Thats pretty sweet, Im a huge fan of Counter Strike and C.S.S.

    Ive played 2 remade maps. One map was an incredibly accurate remake of de_dust, but it was so accurate, it didnt play well with Reach's mechanics.

    The second one I played was a remake of cs_militia, but it focused too much on making it play well in Reach, and it didn't feel or play, or even look like militia in the end.

    So as a word of warning, you need to balance out having the gameplay feel good and classic, while making the map look good, but still work under Reach's mechanic. Making a map that would play well in a game like C.S doesnt mean its going to play well in Reach.

    But good look, and make sure to VM me the links to the maps once they're finished. Especially milita, my favourite map in Counter Strike.

    Sweet yes! I love counterstike remakes. Hopefully your maps are a little more accurate than previous ones I've played. The main problem is that the counterstrike maps were made to be played on counterstrike Lulz

    Yeah I'll have to keep the mechanics in mind, Things have to be portioned abit bigger, less tight corners and alike to make way for Reaches 1+ clip before dead battles over Counter-Strikes one good spam and they're dead.

    Assault was made abit tight, but it still seems really fun to play, outside was spaced decently, makes for good mid range fights.
    Crackhouse is portioned fairly well, the actual house is about x10 the size of the cs version, which helps alot.

    cs_assault is up on the file share check it out! crackhouse still needs spawns,guns, & items placed, will be up shortly.

    Love the CS remakes, but one question.....
    How would you make the destructable glass on CS_Office?

    easy my friend! everyone has to use their imagination and make Glass smashing sounds as they shoot threw the window frames!

    Militia is almost complete! the house got a bit small, I tried to size it bigger but it was too late lol, a bigger house would offset my surroundings, make it look funky.

    I shall dub it Militia Version 1.0, because I will For Sure be making a new and 100 times better Militia!
    It's looking pretty good though, looks like Militia! Will post a link to it when I'm complete in a day or so here.

    cs_crackhouse is complete and tested!

    and I might add it's loads of fun to play, one of the funnest maps in my custom rotation, action packed for an 8 player rumble pit for sure.
