So Wizard/Warlock remakes are abundant…but even still, it was my favorite map from Halo/Halo 2. I’ve looked at the others and while they did a decent job at recreating the map, there are many things that just aren’t quite right. One problem in other people’s remakes is the fact they all use the coliseum to build their map. While this gives you a flat surface to work on, the lighting in the coliseum is too uneven and you get strange looking results. The coliseum will give you that darker feel to it, but it still creates lighting problems. Since Warlock is a small map, I decided to remake it in the shadows of the canyon. This location helps even out the lighting and takes away some of the drastic black shadowing you can get in the coliseum. As in my other remake, Longreach (Elongation), I only had screenshots and memory to go by. The spawn points and weapons are not true to the original maps. I also changed the gold base to orange because orange is the color of the fourth team in Halo Reach. I also opted to use the green and orange lighting to help recreate the Warlock atmosphere. Safe and death zones keep players in the map. You can however perch high atop the center structure if the gametype has jetpacks, but you become a sitting duck. Weapons and Power-Ups: DMR x 4 AR x 2 Magnum x 4 Plasma Repeater x 2 Sniper Rifle x 1 Shotgun x 1 Grenade Launcher x 1 Needler x 2 Plasma Pistol x 2 Frags x 4 Plasma Grenades x 4 Active Camo x 1 Here are some screenshots...
This is problably the best wizlock (i call it that) remake in circulation, but even so, I will compare it to my current one. I am wondering if you included the plasma turrets.
Jester - How weird is that? You used one of my wallpapers as your avatar! Small world. I did leave the plasma turrets off. I wasn't sure about putting them on there. Maybe I'll add them in.
MLG Map Type Your four ramps are a little off and I recommend putting in an evade just to make the map a little more competitive. Happy Forging
How are the ramps "off"? Be more specific, otherwise your comment is useless. Besides, its pretty much to scale so I don't really understand what you are referring to. If you lay my map overhead on top of the old map overhead, they are the same. And if you want evade, put it in your loadouts. I'll stick with old school for this map.
I've seen alot of these, but this is the best looking one of seen. I particularly like the pieces you've used to build it and the way you've used colour on the map, well done! DL
