Pop Tarts is exactly what it sounds like. It's a very vertical and closed off map. The only spawns are in 8 "Toasters", including the starting spawns. Each "toaster" has 2 sides to it. To exit the toaster, you must hit the man cannon which will launch you into a very vertical and very wide open area of the map. The map is definitely best suited for 16 players and for FFA. The gametype gives everyone unlimited Sniper Rifle and Gravity Hammer (starting weapons can be changed to whatever). Each player spawns with 2 plasma grenades and cannot pick up extras. Each player is given 200% jump height and 50% gravity. The only AA available is the jetpack....which you have unlimited use of. Scoring is set up as your basic slayer with a couple of slight tweaks. 1 point for: - Killing anyone - Killing the leader - Getting a headshot 2 points for: - Assassinating anyone And of course you lose 1 point for suicides The leader will have an indicator over their head and they will be pink. it doesent really offer much. The idea of toasters to spawn off are smart, but not that completely original. As of now they are just 8 holes in the ground, that then take you up to a box that can be escaped from. Aesthetics - 2/10 Originality - 4/10 Gameplay - 2/10 Other - 1/10 overall score is 2/10 sorry. It looks really good and would be fun for a while, but after that it may get boring. You could add an objective like oddball to make people want to play it more than once or twice.
I have to agree this is a map that has been done before...however you just didnt do a good job making this one...very simple looking with no aesthetic feel...
I'll be sure to add $5000 in super cool aesthetics that bog the performance of the map down so it looks really pretty. I posted a youtube video in the OP with about 5 minutes of gameplay. Starting weapons were FRG and Gravity Hammers.
The idea behind the map is completely ridiculous, but amusing at the same time. Please do not consider my post as bashing on your map in any way, but I have to agree the map is fully functional, yet it lacks visual presentation. For your future projects, if you are left with a lot of budget and empty walls consider generating some images. Say your map is all about shooting toast, so why not make a 2D image of a cartoony toaster shooting out toast with some face on it? See that is the kind of things which will draw people towards you map and have them say "ya, this guy put effort into this map-I want to download it" Bit more aesthetics won't lag up your game as long as you find the right balance. well said. i'm not trying to be cruel, but i'm being honest. The idea just seems a bit hit and miss. Perhaps you could expand upon the toasters, make then stick out of the map, and force the player to see then, i.e make it a flat map or something. As present its just a box. It looks like the kind of thing a 5 year old would do. Make a box, then throw in unlimited power weapons and jetpacks. Sorry, but this map simply wasn't meant to be But don't give up kid (oh yes, and if your thinking about aesthetics lagging your game, that just aint gonna happen. Look at my quidditch 2 map. Ive got an edited video of it with 26 people, and it runs just fine)
Holy crap that looks chaotic, green fuel rod shots everywhere lol. I wouldn't worry about adding aesthetics because with all the fuel rod shots going all over the place the game is trying hard enough already just to keep a good frame rate. Adding "style" would bog it down more.
his looks hilariously fun! Forget about aesthetics this map is so chaotic nobody will be looking! 10/10 for hours of fun!
