The idea is so simple, and yet so genius; It amazes me how I can't think of a simple minigame, but others can. How does it play with six players? I can imagine it's quite hectic with the full party, but with six? I'm assuming there is only one shooter too.
Correct, there is always only one shooter. 6 is the bare minimum for a decent playing game, 12 is recommended though.
This is the end result if halo, duck hunt, and starfox64 became one. Great job, looks hilariously fun.
How come I had never thought of this? So original using a simple concept from Star Fox! Gives a twist of the joke and Duck Hunt. Im going to have to play this later but im quite impressed. this is very cool... and awesome... and ridiculously fun! i'll admit the fun factor drops a little after playing it for three hours, but hey, that's three hours, and the average minigame gets boring after only one hour of playing it btw thank god for bottomless clips xD lostguru
OMG, an awesome Halo/StarFox64/Duck Hunt game. When I first looked at it, I though to myself, "Oh great, not another one of these." I have been looking everywhere for a StarFox map and this ain't exactly what I was looking for but awesome inspiration no less! I lol'd reading the Zombie stats. Another lol goes to the video, the Zombies look like dolphins evading over the platforms. I didn't think it would work well with a straight shot to the Sniper but I guess the grenades balance that out. A definite fun mini-game that's going to last me a while.
So first ill just say the map looks great. Everything is clean and coordinated. I played a few games of this with different amounts of people. Although I have never enjoyed any duck hunt gametype (or any related spin offs), this one I can stand. The thing about these kind of gametypes is that only one person is really having fun. I guess if you enjoy doing a barrel rolls (btw love the name) than it would be fun. The number of people also reflects gameplay. I played this with 14 people and you had to be real good sniper to kill all the other 13 people. Any less than 8 people it was way too easy and the sniper could never lose. 8 people exact was good and it seemed equally balanced. I also found a glitch. If someone joined during the game, they would spawn outside the map. You can fix this easily be adding 1 or more regular spawn points in the spawn box (instead of only initial spawn points). Other then that, if you had around 7-9 people with player cap locked, its not a bad. Good job! But like I said, I'm not much of a duck hunt game person (although this game seems more like rabbit hunting lol). So I'll just say I couldn't stand this for more than an hour lol. But some people could play this for 3 hours...? Eh, not my opinion.
Let me tell you Sir (or Madame.) every weekend me any my friends get together to play custom games, and this is going right in that list as well. I liked Duck Hunt in H3 and the very idea this is named "do a barrel roll!!" makes me filled with happiness, then sadness as I am reminded the best Starfox game was made in the 90's and no squeal has come close. but regardless this map is fun, and Im sure we will have a load of fun with it this weekend. Its these simple games that can be the most fun after all.
This is an amzaing idea. It seems like this could be fun for literally hours. This is definiteley a DL for me.
In fact I had no influence from duck hunt. I got the inspiration for the map from Ell3ments map The Long Road in Halo 3. And with testing it kind of evolved into what it is now.
Lol I can see myself in a lot of your pics. Carter's Helmet with gold visor and right shoulder with ODST left shoulder. Black and red colours. Was a fun game and easier to kill the shooter when we realized we had infinite roll lol. All in all, awesome minigame bro!
Love this map but... I've played this map a bunch, and don't get me wrong, it's fun. But, with only a few people, it get's really boring. Bottom line: I made a Custom gametype AND map which is exactly like this one, but with re-spawn points and unlimited lives. Is it alright if I up-load it to my file-share, and change the description to some thing like: "Original made by Prodigious 7k, smaller party re-make by CosmicJosh"? Let me know if I can do that, or if you would rather me not. Thanks for a great map
Wow. Thats actually a great idea! Having a time limit of how long to survive would make this gametype much more fun. And giving the zombies respawn points would also make it more entertaining for the people rolling everywhere.
pretty badass map, we had a lot of fun on this one, but our party was just way too small. cosmic thats a very good idea prodigious, i hope ill hear from you soon on R3gr3ts channel
