May seem like a lot of text but I tried to break it up.

    Story:
So, here's my take on the famous game, "Halo on Halo." I know there have been a lot of remakes of this game, but I feel none have been done in quite the same way, loosely based on CaMoFo's and CHUCKS' "Border Resort" game-type. At first, I asked them if I could make my own "Border Resort" map. I started it and CHUCK mentioned that is was pretty much the same thing in a different spot. I then decided to turn it into a new mini-game.

Basically the same layout with a few minute changes.

1st. There is still a central tower for the 'Sniper' to get the kills from, but it's a little more indirect. Instead of sniping, the 'Sniper' uses a Banshee instead (explained later).

2nd. Instead of the Humans on Mongeese, they run around the ring. But wait, there's more! Instead of just running around, the Runners also are running away from a Kill Ball chasing them. The Kill Ball is propelled by 3 mancannons placed around the Ring.

This is where the Banshee comes in. As said before, based on "Border Resort", the Banshee is the Hill. Whilst inside the Hill, the Runners are unable to move, thus allowing the Kill Ball to do what it was created to do, Kill.

Now time for the only picture I can provide at this point in time.

    Explanation:
The middle structure is the 'Snipers' tower. The area above it is where the Runners teleport to after they complete the ring (explained below).

The inner ring, or running ring is pretty self-explanatory. The outer ring (Ramp, Stunts) is what keeps the Kill Ball from falling off.

The section in the upper-middle part of the picture is the Attacking Team spawn (Runners). There is a soft-kill zone to stop camping.

The small part of 3 3x3 blocks is the Kill Ball spawn. It spawns roughly around 10-15 seconds from round start. Still trying to figure out the perfect time.

As stated, once the Runners complete a revolution of the ring, they are teleported to the top section. Up there, they can pick up a Rocket Launcher to destroy the Banshee through a hole in the top.

    Other Notes:
The Kill Ball almost makes a complete revolution before resetting itself.

I have unsuccessfully tested two game-types for this. The first is, as suspected, Infection. Since the Infected are unaffected by the Safe Haven, I had to make the Humans the Runners. And since there's a glitch where the round doesn't end when the Infected is killed, if there's more than one Human left, the round won't end.

The second game-type tested was KOTH. Which had a similar problem. First, since I couldn't use teams for this so I had to do FFA. The Runners could kill each other unless I put no damage or invincibility, then the 'Sniper' wouldn't die. Also, I have been told that if there's just one person left in a KOTH game, the round doesn't end (still testing).

If there are any suggestions towards the game-type, to improve the game, or just general feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Update: 2/13/11
Game is finally up for testing. Just PM me if you're interested.

How does the kill ball revolve around the ring? is the ring forged in a spiral fashion? from the screenshot it looks like it's flat, so I'm a little confused as to how it rolls. Anyway, I like the idea. It's a new twist on an old classic. Great idea.

From it's spawn, the Kill Ball is launched by 3 mancannons placed around the ring. I guess I forgot to mention that.

This was a really awesome idea, and was a lot of fun to play, even though the gametype isn't perfect yet. 10/10 for originality

Thanks Psycho, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I was surprised no one else has come up with this before I have with all of the new features. Anyways I'm just really glad you and Matt enjoyed it.

Have you tried infection with one kill point for humans? that way if someone gets one point, they win...

i do like your map though

That might be crazy enough to work. I originally had it set to one point for Zombie kill but I never put it to one point to win. I'm so stupid. Thanks so much.

I can't have the Humans in the 'Sniper' Tower because if the Infected are the Runners, they are unaffected by the Safe Haven, which stops the Runners from moving. So I'm forced to have the Zombie as the Banshee driver.

I managed to pop in on your game when you guys were messing around with it. I'm sure you noticed how bumpy the floor was when you brought up speed. That was the main issue. The game itself is rather thrilling, but I fill like it is extremely irritating when you are stuck in the "gaze" of the banshee. You keep wanting to sprint, but can't move any faster... Have you messed around with gravity settings to possibly give the runners a good chance of jumping over the beam?

Well, that's the point of the 'gaze'. But I see where you're coming from. I could give the humans slightly reduced gravity if I raised the outer walls. And about the bumpy floors, I'm not quite sure how to fix that, maybe just make each piece go down by a smidge each time?
