I'm seeking some constructive criticism on my map. It's been a working progress since foundry was the big deal in Halo 3. It's been "finished" in each of its various stages of life, from the foundry variant, to the sandbox variant, and almost to this end as well. However, I feel like if I'm going to enter it in for consideration up against some of the maps such as those in the community playlist, I should get more rigorous feedback than a few noscope headshot games with friends. It's a symmetrical map made of four bases surrounding a raised middle platform. Each base is connected via bridges, with a platform in between. Based on the games that I have played on it, the combat generally focuses on longer range encounters, with the DMR and needle rifle being your best friend in these situations. You generally have a good field of view, but your sightline to the directly opposing team (i.e. red vs blue, green vs orange) is obstructed by the middle platform. For more info on the map layout, see the captions below the links to the screenshots below. above base view all bases mirror each other in every way except for color. Two DMRs,each accompanied by one frag and one plasma grenade, can be found leaning against the cover next to the bridges that lead to platforms that help connect the bases together. inside base view This camera angle is located where the team objective items spawn, with the exception of the bomb arm point and the stockpile capture point. The shotgun in view does not have any spare clips. cross map view 1 both below this camera angle, and on the adjacent side against the window, there is a needler that spawns on each platform. Below the bridges that connects these platforms to the middle area are a grenade launcher and a concussion rifle, both accompanied by two frag grenades. The concussion rifle spawns on the window side, while the grenade launcher spawns on the wall side. cross map view 2 both below this camera angle, and on the adjacent side, there are two plasma grenades and a plasma pistol that spawn on each platform. On the ramps up to the middle platform on each side, there is a magnum. Also, two needle rifles can be seen in the screenshot, and their spawns are mirrored on the other side. Health packs The health packs spawn on the front end of each platform where the plasma pistol/grenades can be found. This is also the area where the ramp up to the middle area is found. An AR spawns here on each side. floor view 1 floor view 2 these are just to provide a perspective view from the front area of the bases. This map supports all gametypes but invasion. The maximum number for teams allowed for objective play is four. This includes CTF, assault, and stockpile. While you could play with more teams in slayer, I wouldn't advise it at this time, due to the fact that there are no initial spawns for the yellow, blue, pink, and brown teams. I could change that, but I don't believe the size of the map would make it feasible to do seriously. However, it is set up to handle four teams of four, if you decide to play that way. any constructive criticism or suggestions is very welcome. Thanks for the help guys. and sorry if I miss anything. this is my first forgehub post. EDIT: I don't have much time to fix what's missing, but I've added a couple pictures so that it fits the criteria. I'll fix the missing floor view 2 and add more pictures later.
This thread is in the wrong place... You should have posted this thread up in the Halo Reach Forge Discussion forum, with the Map Preview prefix to the thread. That way you can get some better feedback, as this forum is made for finished maps only. You might also want to consider acctually adding the pictures to the thread, rather than just providing links, as it will help people who dont want to be clicking on loads of links, if you want to find out how to do this, click Here
Is this map fully playable but just needs some feedback? If so then your thread is fine here but you do need to embed your images by following this guide, http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-custom-content/104926-how-post-screenshots.html If your thread isn't updated within an hour or so It'll be locked. And if this isn't a playable map please let me know so I can move it to an appropriate board.
