This happens to me pretty often. I'm pretty sure my last map (Wirerollers Inc, posted here) has this issue and it hasn't been exploited. I'm going to verify that later and if so, I'll be adding a few more weapons to it. Has anyone that messed with this had any fallout from going over budget? It seems like since it's just a small amount usually ($20 or so is what I've seen as well) that it wouldn't cause issues, but I don't want to ruin a good map over a few battle rifle spawns.
I as well am wishing there was just an extra $100 or so in foundry, I was working on a map this afternoon before work and ended up having the main concept hammered out when I found I could not fix any possible map breaks because I ran out of available cash, so tonight when I get home I will be trying to replace double single boxes with double boxes trying to cut down on my budget.
why would u put double single boxes insteada a double box? Although I did it to preserve symmetry (cuz theyre needed to be 3 spots)
I think you read that wrong. He meant he's taking out the two single boxes and putting in one double box. But yeah, there was a better way to say that.
No he read it right - he's asking in response "why did you use single boxes in the first place when a double box would have worked?" Which is something to keep in mind for all forgers who do ambitious, closed-in maps: 1. NEVER use two single boxes when one double will do. And... 2. NEVER use open boxes if you still have closed ones left and are just making walls. You have to be conscious of every scrap of budget you have. I also find myself going through my maps after they are done and looking for anything that is just a support piece that is no longer accessible to players in any way. If it was just there to build a structure on top of, delete it. I ended up re-using everything I deleted on my most recent map, even a couple random window panels that were serving as shims under some objects sitting at an angle.
