-For those of you who don't know, the right brain is the creative side of the brain. I have to say I'm okay at making maps. The problem is, whenever I see a cool map and get inspiration, I realize 10-20 minutes into my forge session that my map is a near replica! So I scrap the idea and start anew. And then..... I draw a blank. I can't think! The problem is, I can never make a map my own, or when I take out a canvas, I can't think of anything. So, my question to you kind people, is where do come up with these ideas?
in mah head. it's really just something that comes to you, or you might be fooling around in forge and throw something together or use an object in a new and inventive way. it's not something you can just decide to have.
Maybe you could try using Google image search, find something cool that looks build able, or an area that you could recreate, like a battleground, a building, an overlook thing, just anything that could have game play possibilities and that you could succeed in making.
Really the first step for me is to take a pen and paper and write whatever, draw whatever. I like to make one aesthetic structure sometimes and base the map around that.
wait, you're the one from hih right? Back on topic: i usually just start thinking up of thing before i sleep. it gets me ideas and helps me get sleepy at the same time.
Well, I hope those help. For me, it just comes to me. I will be sitting there, with my mind wandering off, and a design comes to me. That being said, I am a very innovative and creative person. Just one tip, though, when you think of a map, write down the idea, the name, and a small sketch. Honestly, I can't tell you how often I had an awesome idea and forgot it... best of luck.
watch some films or do some history homework and make a remake with some of ur own stuff that normally works
