Map Title: Stalemate A Foundry variant that works for many game-types. Works best for FFA and 2 Team Slayer. Download Map Description: I built this map with free for all and team based slayer games in mind. I've set up the objectives for each standard game-type but I haven't actually played every game-type on this map. Really, this map is for fun. Everyone in the match should be guaranteed a kill. Stalemate is divided into several areas. Two bases are built into the smaller portion of the foundry with a large wall protecting it from the main floor (complete with entrance). Each base has it's own armory (stocked with a shotgun, BRs, and SMGs) and is equipped with a turret to defend the entrance. The main floor is divided into three areas by two large walls. Each base opens into it's own room and leads to the back of the stage and to the upper levels. The back of the stage houses two teleporters (wall to wall), overshields/camo on separate sides of the map, and both the gravity hammer and flamethrower. A catwalk gives players a vantage point over the main floor as well as a turret and a shield wall to protect you from one sides fire (or both if you're quick enough). Also found on the catwalk is the energy sword. The highest point in the level has a great view over most of the stage. There you will find a beam rifle and rocket launcher as well as fire grenades and a trip mine. Give it a download, I'm pretty sure you'll like it.
On the 3rd pic,are those walls supposed to be sloppy or you tried your best a making those walls?Anyway nice map for a newcome,finally,a thread that meets the standards for a newcomer. 4/5
The walls are supposed to be sloppy there, I like the look of it, as if an explosion had gone off. Yeah, I read the posting standards and all that. Edit: thx for the good score too
Great map. I will say it does need some cleaning up but I will still DL. I love more open maps great for BR use.
Just because I didn't interlock the walls it's sloppy? In this case interlocking would've only shortened walls and allowed me less use of them. The walls are aligned just fine and the level plays great.
Looks okay, very sloppy. But as someone else said, it is very refreshing to see new members post maps that are up to the standards
Also, I dont like the weapon placment, a beam rifle and a rocket just a few feet away from each other. Hmmm, first person there would dominate
I agree with paintbrush just because it isn't interlocked doesn't me its sloppy interlocking makes thing like walls and boxs fit in areas that they could before so just because he didn't interlock everything doesn't me its sloppy by the way the weapons could use a tweak
In my opinion, anyone who gets "dominated" on this map needs to stop playing Halo. If someone is doing well with any particular weapon, there are enough weapons for anyone to grab something and come after that person. I've already responded to the sloppy work comments, but I'm going to consider making a version 2 using the money glitch (assuming this doesn't cause a ridiculous amount of lag?) and interlocking objects. The majority of the work I did on this map was prior to my learning forge tricks, but I still think that they could actually cause problems for this map since I already used the maximum number of certain objects and interlocking them would cause them to constrict. Are there any drawbacks to using the money glitch? In response to the weapon placement, I think I want more feedback before I consider it an issue. I've played the map myself. I like the feel, my friends like the feel, but we'll see how things turn out. Thanks for the feedback, everyone, I'll make sure my next map is prettier since you guys are so concerned with that.
So I've started work on Stalemate V2. After playing the map more and more I've decided to make a few changes in symmetry and item placement. I'll also be merging items to make everything clean, very clean.
um i really agree with luinibux or whatever his name is, thats not good weapon placement, and people could easily get dominated on this map if 2 power weapons are huddled together like that.
the asthetics could use a tiny, tiny bit of clean up as usual in most maps but overall this map looks really good
