    Spencer Mansion is completed!

Three months in the making and my map is now in the Beta phase. I noticed there's been less than stellar attempts at the place where the outbreak all began. By balancing detail and size, I hopefully created a map that's both faithful to its source material while simultaneously being entertaining for us Halo fans.

Because of both the lack of Halo players and the time of day they sign on, it has been extremely difficult for me to properly test the basics of my map. Once all tweaks and gametypes are integrated, the final version will be put up for download and then promoted on the successful Biohazard/Resident Evil fansite, Biohaze.com, respectfully. As of now, Infection is the only functioning game type (supported by multiple variations) but will eventually be able to host ALL game types once I get a steady supply of willing testers. (January 9th)

    - Games will be hosted under my Gamertag, "Cryptic Inc." Send a FR with a message saying "Spencer Beta" and I will accept.

    - Mature, fun-loving, both serious or casual and insightful testers are encouraged. (Biohazard/Resident Evil veterans especially!) You do not need to be a RE fan, however.

    - Supports 12 - 16 (16 recommended at all times.) First come, first serve.

    - Questions and/or suggestions regarding design, gameplay, etc. of map are to be expected from you. Don't be afraid to nit-pick the smallest details, whether it be purely cosmetic or possibly gameplay affecting. Just remember that no game type setting or piece of geometry is final.

A proper thread will be created once Beta testing is complete hopefully after a few weeks.

Not tonight but I'm definitely in for testing. The RE series has been a favorite since childhood and I have a pretty good recollection as to how the mansion should look. As for play... some rooms were a bit tight or small for the Halo style of play. So I'd love to see your take on them.

From what there is of the mansion I can assure you that you'll definitely be having some flashbacks. You're absolutely right about the tightness of the map. In no way was this negative to the gameplay. I've adjusted size multiple times before getting it right. In fact, there's this claustrophobic feeling that I haven't felt in the Halo series before; perfect for Infection. Proper 16 player matches haven't occurred yet, but moving around will be the least of problems, if any. Happy to see you there. Spread the word to anybody you feel would be interested.

I'd like to get some volunteers for this upcoming weekend. Read the OP and send me an FR. Some good custom games are overdue.

I'm up for testing. It would be nice to play customs on a regular basis. I would like to enjoy custom maps rather than matchmaking. And I would also need testers for my maps if that's alright.

Great. I'll be happy to play test other maps once this becomes a regular thing. Request me.

    Haha, I'm glad!

We're trying for tonight so any one who hasn't, send me a request, maybe get some friends to join. It'll be for 9:00pm EST again.

EDIT: I might be apart of Bungie's Social Infection group's Game Night for tonight to test the map. If this is the case, I may not be hosting my own room. If I can I'll invite anyone here if there's room in their party.

Looks great, I'll be there tonight.

This is happening in 40ish minutes so I thought I'd give it a bump for any last min testers.

awesome map, i honestly did not have any issues with it, other than the main entrance/foyer area with the chandelier, where i experienced some minor framerate issues. probably wouldnt be possible to fix unless you got rid of that window, but that would mean losing out on that awesome view

Thanks a lot for the feedback and for being there!

About the frame rate being caused by the big window: I don't think that's the issue. When I've had frame rate issues with items in the past, you would only notice slow down if you were looking DIRECTLY at that specific piece. I wasn't feeling the drop when I was looking towards the Main Hall's window, but away from it; towards the dining hall. I just can't figure it out.

I may be on tonight again for more play time. Anybody else willing to give the map a shot, send me a request.

Hey I am Resi fan! ^_^
Though I'm quite busy to be testing maps so perhaps if you could put a download link I would try out it for you and come back with infomation and accuracy based on the map and gametype.

After making significant revisions to both the map and game type, the Mansion is nearly ready to be released. I'd like to get one solid day/night of testing in next week. Anyone willing to help can send me a friend invite and we'll try for some time next week. This MUST be completed, people. Thanks to all!

P.S. - Just a heads up: This is SURVIVAL-based Infection. I don't want players who would rather play the more mindless, typical Infection game.
