i have no idea what that thing is the lighting is good but could be slightly stronger it seems a little empty the smudging is superb
The subject is the god of war from the game guild wars, goes by the name of balthazar. Stock is here:http://images.wikia.com/gw/images/9/92/Avatar_of_Balthazar_concept_art.jpg
Oh wow, you did a lot with this. I'd like to critique but I have no idea what to say. Maybe better flow? Or composition.. one of the two, but those aren't even big. Nice, really like it.
fx could be more prominent. he blends well colour-wise, but there isnt much to piece him with the bg. the red is far too distracting because there isnt much else to the sig though.
It is a really really nice piece, superbly done. however, to me it just feels like there is something missing to the right of the focal text, FX, idk, just something to fill the dead space. Other than that is is amazing, very well done.
I experimented with text, but I couldnt really find a good place to put it, as it always seemed to disrupt the flow or focal.
I hate to necro-bump this thread, but I couldn't resist. I just was cleaning out my bookmarks toolbar and saw the ol' FH GnA icon and decided to pop in. Anyhow! In my opinion: This is among the best signatures I have ever seen (and let me tell you why). Signatures are not art traditionally. They are design. The sole purpose of design is efficient communication. This signature accomplishes this on every level. The colors are rich and dark, portraying a sense of power and maturity. There is a slight sense of motion, and at least chaos from which Balthazaar stands out, telling the viewer that he plays along the line between good and evil, and that he is a person of action. Despite the lack of a light source, and a bit of a quick transition from the smudge to the darkness, the message is clear: Balthazar is a badass. The signature communicates it very well. It doesn't even need text to say it! But, that's just my opinion; I am not an expert and I do not pretend to be one.
