What is your favorite new weapon?

The grenade launcher is the funnest weapon out of any Halo, ever.

On Sword Base, I always make a run for it, grab the DMR in the tunnel and then go up the lift, and then kill them if they cross the bridge. Sometimes they come from the other way through the hallway and I usually get a few kills right there also.

It makes me mad when someone on my team takes it and tries to shoot it across the bridge into the yellow lift room and just keeps wasting ammo.

 

Yeah, I usually go for the GL on Sword Base as well, although I'll often use it from the hallway outside yellow lift to bounce grenades in there and kill the campers. I've gotten several one hit kills like this, and even with just the EMP, it's a simple matter for my teammates to clean up the mess. But yes, that requires being on yellow side.

The grenade launcher is the realization of the brute shot's potential. The idea of bouncing your shots was always there (with the fuel rod too, I guess), but without the linking mechanism it was just too hard to make the brute shot's bouncing matter.

 

i find it hard to believe the grenade launcher is at the top as i have heard many complain about how it reminds them of call of duty.

Grenade Launcher. Once you get to understand how to use it right you are the opidemy of death. And EMPs. And more death. Although I do like all the others too and the (un-included new weapon) DMR.

 

Yeah I don't mind if people shoot it across there as long as they get kills. I can get a kill with almost every shot if I just shoot people who come close. Most of the time someone on my team will take it and just waste shot after shot shooting it across the bridge.

 

The weapons I gain the most respect for are the ones that cause me the most terror in the campaign. That makes the Concussion Rifle my #1 favorite new weapon. It's nimble, it's beefy, and there is nothing more satisfying than to blow opponents sky high with a few direct hits. The Rocket Launcher can step aside - I use the Concussion Rifle as a main power weapon on most of my maps these days.

Going with the first statement, the Focus Rifle comes in close second. Especially on Nightfall, that weapon tore me a new one like no other. It's sad to see it appear on so few maps.

I am personally not a huge fan of the Grenade Launcher, maybe because I can't use it. Especially in multiplayer - in Firefight and Campaign I can use it legitimately, but against online opponents I really cannot play well with it at all. I guess I'll leave that to you guys.

 

I would say Concussion Rifle, considering how many times i've rage quit just because of that weapon, but I think i'll go with the DMR. Sadly, you didn't put that on the list, so Needle Rifle is my only option. I like it because it's the one weapon people aren't voting on here solely because it is a power weapon. Plus, it's used in MLG (unlike any of these other ineffective, no skill-requiring weapons in this list)

 

We arent voting solely on the 'power weapons', mainly the grenade launcher cos its FUN. Not everything is MLG and competitive.

Dunno if you know this or not, but the GL is in MLG. And @ 4shot the GL takes a large amount of skill to use effectively in an MLG setting, it requires a good understanding of the arc, timing, and has a high damage radius drop off so you really have to aim well, 'pro pipe' isn't just a joke.

The grenade launcher is definitely a favorite of mine, followed by the focus rifle and concussion rifle, although I haven't managed to find a use for the focus rifle in any of my maps yet. In time...

 

I know what you mean, and tbh Bungie seem to be left with the same dilemma based on where we see it in MM. I'm not sure they agree with me that it isn't so much a Sniper weapon as a mid range high damage weapon with strong Sniper-countering potential. I'd actually like to see how it'd work on something like Countdown, I reckon I'd find it massively useful on that map.

 

Needle Rifle is hands down my newest favorite weapon... its just so fun to use and is readily available on most maps

 

DMR. Got to be the my favorite, and it should be because it's the BR's granddaddy.

 

I like the Grenade launcher also because its a noob tube that takes skill to use to its full potential.

 

The DMR is tight and all but im digging the pro-pipe

 

At first I thought the grenade launcher was a really stupid weapon, until I figured out that it also had an EMP blast. It is now the weapon I always rush in Multiplayer.
