I made an infection escape map and I want the zombies to start spawning at a specific place only after a certain amount of time. I set them to not spawn at start and gave them a 3 minute spawn time, but they spawned at the start anyway. I'm assuming that respawn points always spawn at the beginning of the game, so does anyone have any genius ideas for me? I already set up a teleporter for now, but I'd something a little better than that.
Frankly I think that a teleporter would be the cheapest way to do it. You could make a crate on the spawn and have a mancannon push it out of the way, but that'd be a lot more expensive.
I don't usually have a set time, but I know I probably won't be on tonight. About the original topic, you could place the initial re-spawn points in one area, and place a sender node over that entire area (since you can change the dimensions of teleporters). Have the receiver node on a delayed spawn, that way, if you want them to spawn at a certain place after x amount of time, they'll spawn at the initial spawn and instantly be teleported to the new area.
Look at some of the other great zombie maps here on forgehub. Many of them talk about using a zombie spawn room in which the the zombies teleport from in order to attack the humans. A ventilation shaft is also another recommended idea for delaying zombies and yet with enough openings the zombies will rarely get camped.
