Ok, this is also a question about my supersecret map being co-forged with a supersecret someone. Does anyone know if it's possible to map a bridge out of one-way shields and shield doors? In other words: an invisible bridge. (But without bouncing when you go across it.) I also saw this somewhere before, but can't recall where exactly.
Yes u can do this but only covenant vehicles can travel across. If you try to walk over you will fall thru
Ok, I'm using a sheild door bridge for Covy Vehicles/Vehicles in general since I'm not using any human ones. Then there are gonna be small walkways on either side of it for people to walk across. Thanks!
players and human vehicles will bounce, covenent vehicles will just float as normal. but that is only one way shield doors and only on the orange side up. Normal shield doors vehicles and players will just fall through.
Ok so here is what you do: 1. place one way shield facing down 2. Place shield door on top 2 units of height above the one way shield Effect: Players will fall through, human vehicles will fall through, covenant vehicles will be able to cross, unmanned vehicles will bounce If you need to see how it's done, download my map "the last crusade". The link is in my signature. Regards.
I touched up on this topic as soon as reach came out... However, as much as you stack you can't get players to not bounce... However.... using the glitch where someone found out how to turn collesium walls invisible... you could place a shield door on the invisible edge and give the illusion that it's an energy bridge above ground...
I dunno what all this "1-way shield door" nonsense is. If you're only going to use covy vehicles then you will just want to place regular shield doors - the good ol' traditional all blue ones. Using 1-way shield doors is a bad idea unless you need regular non-vehicle players to cross it, but it will be bouncy. To summarise: 1-way shield door orange side up = solid to all players and vehicles but bounces. 1-way shield door blue side up = players and human vehicles fall through. Covy vehicles can float on top but will be forced through if they move too fast or turn too hard (making it impractical) regular blue shield door = players and human vehicles fall through. Covy vehicles float on top with no issues.
Yes its really quite easy just take a one way shield place inside of a block then when you walk under the block you will float as if your crossing an invisible bridge for an example check out my hangmans bridge map Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details now all you do is place some shield doors under your block with the one way sheild in it and whoa your walking across the shield doors.
Can u maybe make the bridge with 1 way shield doors having the orange side up, and then build another layerjust above the original bridge out of one way shield doors except with the blue side up this time? In theory it should work...i guess...maybe. The top layer will hold the players down while the bottom layer will not let them fall through. There will probably be a little bounce, but it should work. Right? lol
