If u have links that will help in posting preview thanks.
Your grammer makes my eyes bleed. Other than that, you might want to check out this really cool link compendium I made using your own post. It should help you find everything you need. If it doesn't cover an issue, use Google. It should be a lot faster than asking a bunch of forum-goers and waiting for a response. Seriously, it's this easy. Anyways, the following quote (which I fixed up a bit : P) should contain all your questions along with an appropriate response, either as a link or a statement in parentheses next to it. Please note, that some of your questions were completely unreadable, and therefore garnered no response from me. It's worth pointing out that half of these "problems" are things you could solve yourself, with little to no help from anyone else. You should try and stop being dependant on others, and start looking towards yourself and your own internal resources to solve a problem. I have no personal issues with people who need help with something, but when they can do that thing by themselves with little effort, it becomes something of a disgrace to ask other people to do the work for you. What's worse is that none of the issues I have with your questions are based on the fact that you're a new member, who's likely new to the intricacies of forging. You can likely get help and opinions, as well as advice from your friends who play Halo: Reach. I know people are going to get mad at me for being like this to a new member, and to some extant I agree. It's just that literally none of your problems are things that a new member couldn't solve or figure out for themselves. Call it a cultural thing but In Bosnia, people would take pride in being self-sufficient, and know that when something comes they'll be ready for it. I suppose that in the end it boils down to a "Teach a man to fish..." type of deal. Sure, we could hold your hand through all the little steps, but if you take initiative and help yourself you'll be far more prepared. I have some links and other help below: Spoiler Overall map design Spoiler Link to thread by Insane45. Nifty refinement guide. On a related note, you can look at any guide written for Unreal Tournament 3. Just keep in mind that UT3 had a different implementation of health packs, and other elements. Framerate problems Spoiler How to avoid framerate issues and lag. Keep in mind that lag in Forgeworld is caused by the huge expanses of land present. Objects are only loaded into the game if a player looks at them, so if you can visually block off parts of Forgeworld, do so. Also keep in mind that when in Forge mode, you'll get a lot more lag than usual. Feel free to ignore that extra lag. Spawns Spoiler Basic guide. Stevo spawning method. Well, I'm not too sure what to say here. Spawns are a bit too complicated for me to fully understand. I'd recomend that you just test your map over and over to ensure they work properly. first off thanks 4 ur post i wont take it personaly but you did com off as a complete ****. in my country, the us of a we prefer efficiency , instead of wondering around looking 4 answers we ask anyone who will listen 4 advice so we can achieve our goals guicker. none of my friends play halo, i cant just start a test match. i was thinking i might find someone experienced in forge that may donate some time 2 help a new forger. the world isnt ending, chill, life is good. thanks 4 feedback for real, and links.
Wow... He wrote a massive amount of text to help you out, all of which will help you out immensely and you call him a ****? I think that is ungrateful and possibly a major reason why no one is helping you out. You read through all that again and you will find the answers you need. No one is gonna spoon feed you every last little piece of advise or help that you may need.
he even suggests that he is COMEING ACROSS as a **** not being 1. i sent him a message thanking him because he did help. he just made alot of completely wrong assumptions, how do i invite friends if none of them play halo. i must be confused about the purpose of forge hub. even if i get enough people in the map lag problems may be the result of someones connection. i was thinking that someone with experience could look at a map and spot problem areas, and give me an idea about thresholds. maybe not. again i appreciate every piece of feedback from everyone. i still am hoping someone with experience and an hour may help a friend in need. i have read posts many times and havent got all i need yet.
Well...play some MM games and send friend requests, most of those people play halo a lot, or make friends with people on this forum. There are lots of ways to make friends with people to play halo with. That is also how you can get help testing maps, playing them, and forging them. There are 2 types of lag, framerate lag which results in having too many objects together or the kind of object and where it is, and network lag. Framerate lag is unaffected by how many people you have playing and if your map is forged well this shouldn't be a problem. Network lag is only a problem if the host has a bad connection and sure this could happen but if you have a decent connection and you play with other people who have decent connections network lag shouldn't be a huge concern. The links pyro666 gave you and the links haris gave you are all excellent and easy to follow guides for getting stuff done around forgehub, I would consider reading all of them.
thanks, especially 4 the lag info. knowing their are differences between lag and framerate issues is helpful. i need 2 now be able 2 identify the differences between them (any 1 know? ) so i can see if its my level. also "making friends on this forum" was the point of the post .i do have a few new friends on the hub, mostly rookies who havent been doing this 4 years. everyone ive interacted with here have been surprisingly cool and welcoming.thanks keep advice coming hub.
Not entirely true... I've noticed that framerate lag can also be caused by having a certain amount of people in a game, whether split-screened or not. I've also noticed that framerate lag is connection dependant as well as it often occurs in some games, and then doesn't in others when playing with different people. Also to OP: You should check out the tester's guild. They can help you when it comes down to weapon placement and general map designs. However, don't rely on them to just pick your map up instantly and test it.. You have a lot better chances of having your map tested if you help out there by testing others maps. It's also a good place to make a network of friends for playing on Reach. And I don't know if you can post in the forums on a PS3... I'm guessing you probably can because you've got this post up?
thank you, i can post text but am unsure about screenshots, or video. trial and error i guess, anybody kuow please share.
If you can post text, you can write the code out for images. use to post images. As long as you can post text on forgehub, you should be able to compile map threads too.
You do that by being a helpful productive member, not insulting people who try to help you while using horrific grammar and asking questions you could easily answer yourself if you weren't too lazy. Don't flame me for explaining.
no flameing or insulting exist on this post friend, what u talkin about willis? and thanks again stevo !
