This is my map called Ecstasy, it's my first real forgeworld map and also I want to add that it's the first time I post on this forums, so please tell me if I've forgotten something.

This map is only for slayer gametypes, but if you want you can add other gametype option and tell me if it played well.

    Weapon list:
    2 DMR
    2 needle rifle
    2 magnum
    2 plasma pistol
    2 needler
    2 assault rifles
    2 concussion rifle
    1 rocket launcher
    8 frag grenades
    4 plasma grenades

In the middle, there is the rocket launcher.

On the left side there are the stair, which lead up to the rocket launcher stadium. In the middle of the path there is the concussion rifle.

A little bit aesthetics here and there.

On the left podest there is the plasma pistol with two plasma grenades. In the middle of the hallway there is an additional grav lift to get up.

    Overview of the map.

Thank you for reading and I hope for some positive feedback^^

    New version includes:
    Better spawns.
More cover in the middle section.
Added ramps in the middle section.

WELCOME TO FORGEHUB!!! Congrats on posting your first map correctly, you'll be surprised the number of posts that don't have pictures. Well since this is your first map, it's pretty good. But there is a lot of room for improvement. I'm not a fan of the grid floor but i like how you used it for the ceiling. I think the best thing I can tell you to do instead of pointing out flaws and such is to refer you to ~URL REMOVED~. Godly Perfection is an experienced forger who made a 42 part guide for forging called Forge Lessons. You should read it over and try and see what you can do to improve your map, reading his stuff has helped me a lot, keep up and good job.

Thank you for your response! I think it wouldn't be so bad to read the article, it could help me a lot for objective gametypes, because there are very much options!

I just chose the grid floor, because it looks nice^^

To be honest; Ecstasy probably isn't the greatest name for a Halo: Reach map.

    Mother overhears son:
"Oh my god! Have you tried Ecstasy?! It's so great! There's so many colours! I just want to stop the violence and lie here!"

    Catch my drift?

From a first look sort of deal, I can see some issues (minor or major, depending on who's judging)
    1) Some of the spawns are facing walls and obstacles, this is a bad thing because it distracts from gameplay and player mobility.
    2) The middle are of the map could use more cover, and less jumps.
    3) Some of the ramps are a little too steep for my taste.

I'm sorry if this makes me seem like a pompous ass, but those are the problems I can see right away.

Well, the name is just something like a placeholder, because I'm not that creative with it :p

I prefer this spawns, because this way there isn't someone who is able to assassinate you as you spawn.

I thought the middle part was quite good, because the rocket launcher is the only power weapon on this weapon. It would be quite unfair if the only power weapon on the map would be easy to get. The lower ground has more cover while the middle space has less.
It's like an exchange -> height advantage against cover.

And point three, well I could change that but I really don't think it's necessary.

Well again opinions, opinions, opinions. We both gave them, but I think first someone should playtest the map, otherwise we'll just talk some weird stuff.

This doesn't make you look like an ass, you just gave a good criticism. Thank you and I'll try to do better next time :D

you take critcism really well, so I have a few things ti say (not all is bad)
    the aesthetics are good
Im not seeing bad spawns, but if you're facing a wall, it is no good
let me explain: i am a more aggressive player, I want to be where the kills are, a spawn facing a wall is bad for this because it is poor for orientation, and extends the time i am out of the flow of the game, breaking the smoothness
also, there are too many jumps, the middle looks sick, but I prefer ramps because it allows me more control over my movement
I'll also add: you need more cover
I might Jump around a map alot, but never way out in the open
think of swat, if you can be seen from everywhere on the map, no one will use that part of the map
that sux for you, because you put time into the top level, add a bit of cover and people will use an area more, especially in normal slayer where you need to recharge your shields

also, send th gt seredhras a fr over xbl and I'll help test

Well, thank you I'll take that in account. I did never thought of swat^^

Well I can easily build some ramps in the middle that's no problem, while I have to admit that the middle section needs a little bit cover. I'll try to make some cover and the ramps - the spawns are an easy fix.
