Hey guys. Glad to be able to join you all on forgehub. I must say I see alot of great maps come out of the people on this website. My map is a basic puzzle map, nothing too hard but not too simple either, a few hidden paths a few miss leading paths. there are parts where you think you will die and you wont and a few where... well you will. lol. i wanted to set up spawn points that only activate once you pass a certain part so you dont have to completly restart but i am brand new to forging puzzle maps so any advice is good. here are a few pics of my map, sorry they dont show much but i dont wanna give anything away. thats it. please guy comment and let me know what you think
This map contains some very clever puzzles and is definately a challenge. My main complain would be that its too challenging given the lack of checkpoints and the ease with which you die. Also im not sure i like the random kill zones.. One final problem i encountered was with the teleporter you blocked with fusion coils. If you jump you can get through the teleporter. Im not sure if thats what you intended
thank you for your compliments. ive played blue orchid and im stuck at a puzzle right before the end as for check points i wish i could add some. i know the rock climb is difficult and i'll have to check up on the teleporter cuz there is a hidden weapon you use to destroy the fusion coils. is there not a gametype like king of the hill or oddball that has check points? i really wanted to do check points with teleporters but i have none left to use. As for killzone I can see myself changing a few except for the ones at the beginning. How far have you been on the map?
To be honest i just play in forge as i was a bit reluctant to play the map properly due to the difficulty and lack of checkpoints. You can make checkpoints by using the invasion gametype btw as each phase will serve as a checkpoint
Good idea! I'll have to toy with it on Sunday. I made another puzzle map in the past ill have to upload Sunday too. But like I said I don't use forge much but ill try to get the checkpoints worked out
