    Hi All,

Back in Halo 3, I used to maps based around the concept of a single, absurdly powerful but slow attacker trying to make his way through a well-defended fortress. To make these work I used the VIP gametype, which allowed me to make the lone player have completely different attributes to everyone else. You could then also specify that the VIP would have to move to a certain point to win.

As the VIP gametype doesn't exist in Reach, does anybody have any ideas as to how I could achieve a gametype like this?

A coulple of examples of what I have tried:

Invasion: Must specify three objectives; I only want one. Also as far as I can tell there is no way to give the Elites different attributes to the Spartans (i.e. more health, less speed).

Territories: As above, no way to specify that the attacker has different attributes to the defenders.

Assault: Bomb-carrier cannot use weapons. What made the games back in Halo 3 fun was that the single attacker had a Fuel Rod Cannon with infinate ammo :)

Juggernaut: No way to specify where the Juggernaut starts. Also, not possible to specify an objective for the Juggernaut, other than to murder everything he sees.

Any input would be very much appreciated!

Actually, you can designate the Juggernaut's starting place.

Also, couldn't you use Infection, place a haven at the end of the map, and set it so you only get points for kills made in the haven and only need 1 point to win?

So the zombies get points if they kills him, but the human only gets points if he makes it to the end?

Yes, however unlike previous games you can't do Team juggernaut and thus you can't truly replicate the full VIP feeling of the previous games. I know... it stinks. I used to have a great one way VIP gametype during Halo 3 and unfortunately I can't replicate it.

As for your zombie idea however that is a pretty good idea.

How about using a custom power-up to give the one guy these attributes? I don't know how flexible that is or how long it lasts though. If it did work, you could use it in any game type.

...So long as you can guarantee that a Human can kill Zombies from within the Haven. Zombies can always just completely avoid the Haven, to cheat the Human out of their victory.

Of course, a well-designed chain of explosives placed behind cover and vulnerable to fire from within the Haven could allow the Human to kill everything on the map once inside the Haven, provided that the map is small enough (or the explosives are spaced far enough apart). Another alternative is some kind of mechanism in which the Human destroys some object while in the Haven, causing a Normal-physics Kill Ball to roll across the rest of the map.
