I have alot of coloured pieces in a map for orientation purposes, plus it looks cool, but it seems that most of them lose the color after there are more than 5-6 people in the custom game. Or maybe, it has something to do with starting a new round, I've only just noticed it to be honest. I'm sure people here would have come across this before, but has anyone worked it out? Link anyone? Maybe theres a set limit of colour items you can have? I had a little look around on FH and the net and cant find any info. Can anyone help out with some info? If not, I guess I'll just have to do some investigation into this myself (Phillip Marlow style) and I'll be back with what I find out.
This happened to me today after Black Screening - it even showed up in Theater later, ruining some screenshots. It keeps the team-colored objects as they should be but object-colored objects seem to lose their color.
Ok then, I'm pretty sure I know what you mean but since I'm trying to get the bottom of this, can you tell me exactly what you mean by team coloured objects? I've always wondered what team colour means, does it just apply to objective type objects or something?
Team colouring is exactly the same as Object colouring (actually team colours are slightly brighter) and they only appear in team based gametypes. Team colours will not appear in FFA gametypes.
They're actually not the same. Object coloring, for the most part, is not only more dull... it has some extreme color differences. Yellow, Green and Brown all end up looking like shades of green in Object Coloring on most objects (with the exception of certain trim areas like the top of doorway pieces), but are clearly the correct color in Team Coloring. Pink pretty much looks violet/white. Of course, this is all with filters turned off. I'm sure Juicy remedies this to a point. Back to the topic, it was extremely strange to me that the object-colored objects lost their color but not the team-colored ones. This was a team game it happened in, by the way.
Thanks for the info guys, it showed up in the theatre too in my games, but Kitten was right, the colour was still there on objects with team colours. I think I've worked out the cause - the engine reloading the map (changing rounds doesn't affect it) - either from blackscreen or changing host and maybe when a new player joins. I think that when I change all of the colours to team colour it should fix it. I'm still not sure if there is a limit to the number of coloured objects - team or otherwise - allowed on the map, but I doubt it. BTW, another case of "how did I not know this?", team colours looks heaps better, anyway, I'll see if it fixes it when I get a chance to test again and be back to tell what happened.
team colours don't show up in FFA question: if there are only red and blue teams, will an orange team piece still be colourez?
