I would like to introduce you all to my new map - Inlet.

Inlet is an asymmetrical map set on an abandoned Forerunner Hydroelectric facility. The design of the map allows for both long range fighting in the open sections down by the water and close quarters battles as you move into the structure itself. The map is best suited to slayer and objective game types such as Assault and KoTH.

    Ideal for 4 -12 Players

It has already undergone some major reworking due to playtesting with friends but the map is still in its very early stages. This is where you come in. I would like all of you to take some time to download the map and play a few games to let me know what you think.

Objective gametypes have only just been implemented today and as such remain mostly untested. As such this is the area I will require the majority of feedback for, but also please let me know any concerns you may have with everything from weapon spawns to core geometry.

Also note, this is my first attempt at a map, so your feedback is highly valued to me.

    Thankyou,

    -rAvEn

I'll give this a Download and a fly through, though its unlikely I can get a game on it. This looks very well done, I like the cover on the bridges and the height variations. I would definately tell you to take more pictures though, and especially an overhead shot. If there is a roof blocking this, just set the roof not to spawn for 30 second into the match so you have time to pause and take a pic. This already looks like it is a good sized map, I'm guessing 4 v. 4 team slayer and Multi-flag? I'll reply with a review at some point.

Thanks for the DL, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to say about it, especially if you happen to have any ideas for possible improvement. You're just about spot on with you're estimates on size and ideal usage.

Also, I have added some extra screenshots as requested. although the multiple levels does make an overview a little difficult.

Well, I did a good fly through and there are things I love about this map and some things I hate. I'll start with pro's- Your map has a very good flow, I was pulled to walk the right ways and I was only lost for a short time. Your use of colors made distinguishing between rooms easy and finding my way from Red to Blue base was not a challenge. Some aesthetic pieces were well placed, such as the turbines in the water, and you actually put enough cover to make walking on the bridges not a death-trap. Spawns also seemed clustered well to keep teams together. As you can see, there are a lot of good parts to your map, so I would recomend keeping it. But... there were some major issues as well. Heres a list:
-For a 4 v. 4 map, a sniper, focus rifle, rockets, shotgun, and a sword is way too many power weapons. I almost cried when I found the sniper right by the long green hall. Honestly, I would take 1 clip out of the rockets and choose between the sword and shotgun, as well as between the focus and sniper rifles.
-There were a few dead end areas that broke the flow, and many of these had territories in them. These areas would turn into a nade-fest very quickly, and the power weapons were usually very near them.
-The camping stools should tell you one thing: this is where you need to PREVENT camping. Lets face it, campers suck, and they don't need any help finding spots to camp. There were many spots on the map that need to be patched, such as the hole in the rocks behind red base, and Red base roof, and the focus rifle spawn, and the stairs by purple spawn, and... you get the picture.
-There were spots in the map where walls just poked right out into rooms from other areas, like the green hallway, and some areas were just cramped, like over Red Base.
Thats all for now. I'd suggest you work on parts of this some more to make it cleaner, but don't scrap the map completely, it still has some very good flow/LOS and It looks like it would be good for infection as well!

This looks quite good, I'll give it a download. I like the look and theme of the map, and I also like how its asymmetrical, as far too many maps these days are standard symmetrical 4v4 maps. I'll look at the map in forge and see if i can get a game on it, and then I'll give you some more feedback.
