Hello fellow Forgers. Long time lurker, first time poster. Rest Stop is an asymmetrical/symmetrical map with 3 levels. This was the very first map I began making in Forge World and it has undergone many revisions before I felt it was worth to post here. It was created mostly by me with a little assistance toward the end by fellow forger, XFennoX. Unfortunately, I forgot to do a weapon count and my buddy is using the xbox, so I'll do my best to remember from off the top of my head. Let me know if I'm off on any of them, most notably the grenades. If requested, I can take a look at spawn times for each weapon. I think the lowest power weapon is 120 secs. Human Weapons DMR x 4 Magnum x 4 Assault Rifle x 6 Shotgun x 2 Grenade Launcher x 1 Rocket Launcher x 1 Frag Grenade x 6? Covenant Weapons Needle Rifle x 2 Plasma Rifle x 2 Spiker x 2 Focus Rifle x 2 Plasma Pistol x 2 Plasma Grenade x 6? Armor Abilities Armor Lock x2 Without further ado, the pics: Overview. The three struts you see on each side are useful for quickly maneuvering the space in between bases and for a superior, albeit exposed, positioning. Shotguns spawn below the platform where the armor lock abilities are located (Middle Strut). The Bases. Straight ahead is a tunnel leading to the other side. Inside is the grenade launcher. Immediately behind the base are ramps leading to both mid and lower levels. A lift at the bottom takes you back to the top. The flags in multi-flag are located at the bottom next to this lift. From the base to the player's right is one of the DMR huts. The grav lift can put you either inside the hut or on top of it, giving you access to a better height position. The Rocket spawn, located on the bottom floor in the center. There are only two ways to access it and it is highly prone to grenade tosses. On top of that there is a soft kill zone located inside the hut, forcing you to act quickly once you've got your hands on the weapon. That about wraps it up. I worked really hard on this map, and would appreciate any and all feedback. I am completely willing to make changes if necessary. Thanks everyone, hope you enjoy.
Glad to see this map up on here. Looks pretty damn fine to me. I've never seen AA's placed onto a non-MLG map before, but that could create a whole new struggle over who gets Armour Lock. The Soft Kill zone within the RL spawn is a fantastic idea, prevents camping and makes you think on your feet. People could probably use this idea in a map some day.
Thanks, the placement of AL is meant to give a player a last minute defense against a player coming out of the rocket spawn ready to blast opponents. I've yet to play test this map to see if this is a good idea or just plain annoying, so if anyone would like to help out with testing let me know.
