    The cube 2.2.2

    Happy new year people!!!

    Welcome to my new map.

I have been reluctant to post this map due to so many comments on my maps not being competitive, and so many comments on the balls and aesthetics I have made, so I went out making this map to try and show I am not a 1 trick pony and can make other maps. I do admit many of my maps are far from the norm of other maps that are made ...But I do like to be individual. ok enough jiber jaber on with the map.

This map has been made and re-made to get all the game types working well. Each different working game has individual spawning to go with the correct game type. I could not use territories or invasion as I ran out of max objects, due to the individual gametypes.

    Important
Firstly I need to point out that the blue 2 way shield walls are all lifts up.
    ________________________________________________________________________
This map is a symmetrical map, to make the map play fairly and all spawning is almost exactly the same.
Best suited for 8 v 8 games but also plays well on 4 v 4. Also supports free for all on some gametypes (headhunter) & 4 teams of 4 (stockpile)

There are 3 central power weapons, on basement, first floor and second floor. These are exactly same distance away from initial spawns and make for good battles to get the weapon.

As many of my maps there are a number of weapons. Although this time I have been more careful in fair placement.

    6 x dmr
    1 x pistol
    2 x shotgun
    1 x rocket (central)
    2 x sniper 1 clip
    8 x frag

    1 x Hammer (central)
    1 x fuel rod 1 clip (central)
    2 x beam rifle
    4 x plasma pistol
    2 x needler
    2 x plasma launcher
    4 x plasma grenade

This is what the map looks like with no walls ( I have another version with the map spawning as time progresses, but this would not work on competitive)

They are just to show the layout as it is so difficult to show good pictures from inside the cube. The rest are as normal

    Firstly the lifts

they are all safe and work well. Using the lifts up you can get to the top in around 20 sec. Less running.

this is a safe lift down, again from top base (in ctf) it takes as long to get from your base down this way to the objective as it would to go up using the way I have just shown in 3 pics above this

I am expecting mixed reactions from this map as I did in the play testings. I think it is good fun once you work out the lifts up, the lifts are all working well. I know many will disagree with me selecting this catagory for my map, but as I have all the games working and being a symmetrical map I feel this is the most appropriate catagory for it. I hope you like it and get some games played on it.

Also there is a custom gametype for infection

Thanks for checking out my map

Timmy, I always like your maps. You do a great job of showing the community what is aesthetically possible in Forge. I like that you're now trying to reign in some of it a bit to strike a nice balance between beautiful, unique spaces and competitive game play. It's great the way you were able to provide such informative overview pictures of this map due to it's simple cube outer walls.

I think you and I have similar interests in Forge. I am always coming up with interesting ways to use the forge objects, either spiraling them or using them in a strange orientation to create interesting spaces. Once I come up with a cool aesthetic concept I can't get out of my head, I then begin formulating ways to get that aesthetic concept into a working competitive map.

Unfortunately, my hard drive fried a few weeks back and I lost all my concepts and maps. I had several nearly completed maps and probably 50 or so files with just the initial concept architecture. I should be getting a new Xbox shortly and will begin re-forging my concepts and maps.

I look forward to trying The Cube out soon and also to seeing your future projects.

Thanks for checking out my maps, your support is appreciated !

I recently had e 74 red ring of death, and have lost my files untill get files, hope my hard drive is ok as I tried a few tricks to fix off youtube , towel trick and standing on it :/

I have put a lot more into the gametypes, individual spawning and the symmerical lay out. Tested 4 v 4 and. 8 v 8 . Great being now be able to have big customs and test out maps.

I have seen the cool shape you made, I will be checking out your maps . Thanks

Geez, another one of your maps I can't wait to get into and take apart. Amazing the way you come up with new trick stuff and ways to put objects together. Sweet!

Oh Yeh, it was just a coincidence that I posted a map yesterday in Aesthetic maps with a similar name. Other than the shape, it's only similar in name. If you had posted yours there I would have waited a bit. Probably no big deal to ya but I thought I would mention it.

The one thing that really catches my eye with this is the flowery looking design you made with the covy-shields. That looks freaking sick.

Cool man, thank you. Having good friends has helped, picking up new tricks as I go and testing maps and seeing work off other forgers, mixing ideas.
This map is all about gameplay for me. It offers a fast fun way to get around. And loads of gametypes.

Just making a new map now and it is sick.

Seen your map, easy coincidence, I like how yours is angled.
    Thanks
