Hello Forgehub, this is my first post on my new profile and i am happy to be back. This map of mine is a 4v4 slayer map but you can play with however many people you want. I got my inspiration for this map from looking at screen shots of halo combat evolved maps and I used some similar elements in it. So getting to the point, Limbo is a symmetrical four leveled map in the air above the island on Forgeworld. It works great for 4v4 matches of team slayer or FFA, i didn't get around to making it compatible with objective gametypes unfortunately. Limbo has a lot of vertical fighting space opposed to the usual horizontal, so it feels smaller then it actually is. there is one energy sword, one shotgun, and one sniper rifle out on the map along with some grenades and a couple dmrs. Overview: Ground floor: Second floor: Third floor: Shotgun spawn (second floor): Sniper spawn (third floor): Sword spawn (basement): I had a picture of the basement floor but it didn't get sent to Bungie for some reason sorry.
Definitely not bad for a first map, reminds me of Boarding Action, Hang Em' High and prisoner all in one. Aesthetics are nice I suppose, and the level has a nice design. A weapons list would be nice. But yeah any ways I can definitely see ALOT of Halo 1 influence; great job at capturing that feel. Keep forging.
Nice, map. I'm not quite sure about the design though, all and all it's very good, but I like a story behind it. A floating box out in the middle of no where is fine when it's just a box, you can't see where you are, but when you can see the sky and ground below it just seems to me that it loses it's feel of reality. It might give you something to think about next time. Good job.
I DEFINATELY agree with Ociee, thats exactly what this feels like. and for Apollyon, just imagine youre in one of the loading bays of a large frigate that just got added in, and is still in creation. So theres a whole bunch of building stuff. Thats why there are so many thin walkways....... And an open bottom.
