    Sudden Conflict has been updated! If you downloaded the map before Friday, January 21 (1/21/2011), please re-download it!

    Changes in the updated version:
    - Added color! The old bland look has been replaced with colored walls and floors to help you orient yourself and do callouts.
    - Sniper ammo has been reduced from 2 spare clips to only 1 spare clip.
    - x2 Plasma Repeaters were added to the orange hall.
    - Rockets were moved slightly so that they are easier to see.
    - Fixed up the spawning.
    - Added a health pack to each starting base.
    - Fixed the one spot where Z-fighting occurred.
    - Moved the neutral loadout camera.


    Description:
    Sudden conflict is a fully enclosed, symmetrical, and fast-paced map. It has a good mixture of close-quarters and longer distance combat areas. It has an overlooking top level, a middle level, and a basement. It is best suited for FFA Slayer and Team Slayer, though the KOTH and Oddball gametypes work as well. A good flow of gameplay was my primary concern while creating this map, and I think I pulled it off pretty well.

    The layout is simple enough to prevent new players from getting confused and to provide a fair and competitive game, but the variety of levels/angles/etc make the map complex enough to keep everyone entertained.

    Also, it was difficult to take very revealing pictures due to the tight nature of the map, so you kind of just need to download it and explore to get everything out of it :)

    Don't let the map's current lack of attention discourage you, this is a really well forged map, especially for you second serious attempt. It felt a little cramped in some areas but I know you are limited by putting it in the hangar. The layout is simple but nice and the aesthetics are as well. There is a serene feel from the reflective pieces you used and the lighting effect is pretty cool. Maybe it's just the hangar's effects but it really seemed like you put on an fx filter though i don't think you did. Nice work, keep forgin.

    your aesthetics looks nice, my only advice would be to add some color!! even if its just red and blue to indicate what side your on, it makes a huge difference!!

    Thanks for the compliments guys. I went specifically for a simple, more cramped layout because I feel like most maps I look at, although they may be visually pleasing, are much more confusing to play on, whether they have to many long open line of sights or not enough 'bunker down' or cover areas. I think my map plays very well in FFA specifically because it is a little more cramped than usual and your limited from shooting people all the way across the map in certain areas.

    And depending on how many downloads this map gets, I may add some color and update it a bit. Thanks again guys.

    The clean, simple look of the map is great. It appears that new players will have an easy time figuring out the layout, but the layout also looks complex enough not to bore them.

    This. There is really no better way to explain it. That is literally exactly what I was going for while making the map. I feel like most maps are to confusing to play a competitive match on, but this is simple enough for some good, fair competition.

    I really enjoyed this map. I tested this some and i liked the flow. They are a few things that could be cleaned up, but overall I found myself enjoying this map for a long time. I never really got bored. Great work, especially for your second attempt.

    After play testing the map a few more times and receiving some feedback, I decided to update Sudden Conflict! It now has color, new weapons, updated spawns, and much more! Check out the thread again and re-download the map!
