This UNSC facility, "Experior Locus," was the location for field testing reverse-engineered Covenant technology. 2-8 players.

    YouTube - ‪Halo: Reach Forge Map - Experior Locus‬‏

Experior Locus (literally translated from Latin as "Test Location") is a small symmetrical map, designed for 1v1 or 2v2 games. It supports all gametypes, with the exception of race, invasion, and invasion slayer. The design is reminiscent of maps like Assembly, Heretic, and Zealot. There are many ways to get around, with access to a weapon anywhere on the map.

The layout is oval shaped, with 4 levels of playing field: The basement, main floor, bottom ring, top ring/platform.

The basement can be accessed from the opening on each end of the raised platform on the main floor, or from jumping down the lift exits on the top floor. It holds the energy sword in the middle (it is not set to "fixed" or "phased"), and corridors leading to the two vehicle man cannons. There are four pillars on the four corners providing cover.

The main floor is the most open part of the map. Two DMR's and 4 plasma grenades can be found on this floor. On each of the four corners are Box Bunkers, which act as initial spawn for Red, blue, green, and orange teams, and two of which act as the bases for red and blue teams. In the center of the raised platform in the middle, is a grav-lift that takes players to the top floor. Surrounding it are four pillars. In the middle of the outside of the oval, are two ramps on either side leading to the bottom ring, and the top floor.

The bottom ring consists of a catwalk running around the entire map. It holds the two plasma rifles at either end.

The top floor consists of a ring directly above the bottom ring, and the platform in the middle. It holds two DMR's at either end on the catwalk. It can be accessed from the lifts at the basement, or the ramps on the main floor. This is where most of the action occurs.

    Changes From v1.0 to v1.1
    • Removed Blue Light from above energy sword
    • Added a flashing yellow light above each vehicle man cannon
    • Added traffic cones around middle grav-lift and at the entrances to the outer grav-lifts
    • Added two plasma rifles

Most of the changes are for aesthetic purposes.

    Weapons (spare clip count/respawn time)
    • 4x DMR (2/30 sec)
    • 2x Plasma Rifle (N/A/30 sec)
    • 1x Energy Sword (N/A /90 sec)
    • 4x Plasma Grenade (N/A /15 sec)

    Supported Gametypes
    • Slayer Variants
    • CTF Variants
    • Assault Variants
    • Infection Variants
    • Territories Variants
    • Stockpile Variants
    • King of the Hill Variants

There's not as much z-fighting as it seems. Most of the action goes on on the top floor, and on the bottom floor, where the sword is.

EDIT:I feel stupid. I didn't know what z-fighting was. Now I do. There isn't much z-fighting, except for a few obscure spots.

But if there are more people (like in a FFA), then it can get pretty hectic.
    But yeah, thanks!

You didn't do a whole lot to improve aesthetics over the first version. Though adding the street cones around the grav lifts, and the flashing yellow lights gave it a slightly better feel like they're testing something. Nobody ever uses plasma rifles anymore, because you can't dual wield, but it contributed to the premise of the map.
But it still plays very well with 2v2. One thing I like on this map is that the energy sword isn't essential to winning. Its effectiveness compared to other maps is drastically reduced. It can be used as a sidearm. And no one part of the map has all of the power, except for maybe the top, but it is easy to get up there from the bottom. All of the areas are accessible, which is good.

I couldn't really find much to improve on. Most areas didn't have room to add anything. But yeah, I have fun playing this map with 2v2 and even 1v1. Though it is a tad too big to play 1v1 comfortably.

Oh, and if anybody is wondering, the second post on this thread (by me) is in response to a post that got removed for some reason.

I like this map, very nice lay out, nice and open with plenty of cover. A nice selection of weapons, and I like that you have carefully placed them. Is the sword set to normal that is standing up? or fixed/phased? Nice forging

Woah, someone replied to this after like 2 weeks.
Thanks for the feedback. Sword is not set to fixed or phased. It was carefully placed in normal physics (before I knew it would stay by placing it in fixed, then changing it to normal), and it always spawns up right, and grenades or shooting it will knock it down.

In Latin, 'Experior Locus' literally means 'place I test'. I've been taking Latin and have known Latin, and can speak and write fluent Latin for years now. You've got your title a little messed up... sorry. You can ask me in advance if you need anything translated.
