Hi people, For more pictures, rendered videos and an alternative game setting that works well with this map please visit the fileset on Bungie.net http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileSets.aspx?player=Pro BulletPoof I worked on this map for over a month. Finally feel it is completed and I uploaded it today for the community to have some fun with. The map was inspired by a MarioKart 64 map called Block Fort. I downloaded a few block fort maps that people had already made for Reach, but unfortunately all of the attempts left me a little disappointed. I designed the map while testing with the moongoose every step of the way. Every turn, jump, slide, rocket blast and rocket boosting has been tested over and over again to make this map great for Rocket Race and Rally gametype alternatives. I also uploaded a custom gametype called "Random Rally" which is really fun and unlike Rocket Race you can get destroyed. People who do not usually like playing Rocket Race much prefer the Random Rally game settings. The settings still needs tweaked and tested but the core settings are there for you to download. Map is specifically designed for Rocket Race and other Rally variants but I did make the map playable for most gametypes. Slayer, CTF, Assault, KotH etc etc. Please download and let me know what you think. I would love to make another map but I am in need of encouragement and would like to know my 100 hours of forging didnt go to waste on this map with only 60 downloads in 60 days! Thanks for reading
Well, from the one picture you gave us, it looks like a solid remake. Since I'm doing this from my iPod, I can't really watch the video and the pictures aren't working for me, but I'll DL and give it a shot. I'll tell you what I think afterwards. Edit: after actually seeing the pictures, I see that it's an inspired map (my bad) but still looks like a blast to play.
I was wondering when you were going to post this, it was probably my favorite RR submission to the contest. At first I was very skeptical of the design with all the added details, but they are very cohesive and work together to create a nice experience, you can't help but have some fun racing around and blowing each other to pieces while using all the tricks the Mongoose has to offer, as well as the structures in the map itself. Great work!
Thanks for the good responses. I may make a v2 of this map and reduce the amount of blocks and allow me to make a race variant. Will update the thread once done
