In this map, the Peasants are thrown down into The Cretan Labyrinth, where they must run away from the Minotaur. Fairly simple premise, but the map has plenty of surprises. But first, some backstory on the Minotaur, happily copied from Wikipedia: In Greek mythology, the Minotaur, as the Greeks imagined him, was a creature with the head of a bull on the body of a man or, as described by Ovid, "part man and part bull". He dwelt at the center of the Cretan Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction built for King Minos of Crete and designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus who were ordered to build it to hold the Minotaur. The Minotaur was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus. Without further adieu, here it is! Wait, wrong one. Entrance Starting Room Don't make me choose, man! Pretty basic so far, but that's only part of the map. Time for my favorite part... The Cave Game Settings 6 rounds at 2 minutes each If a Peasant manages to kill the Minotaur he gets 10 points, assassinations are possible I wanted the surviving Peasants to each get 5 points at the end of the round, but it doesn't seem to be possible if they're considered the zombies Everyone has Sprint Peasant Traits No shields, health doesn't regenerate Magnums, weak melee No motion sensor Minotaur Traits 500% damage resistance, which means he's killable but it takes a lot of shots No shields, health regenerates slowly Gravity Hammer, weak melee so he can screw with a cornered Peasant, main attack still kills 10 meter motion sensor, not enhanced Inspired by the Halo 3 Peasant Hunt, but this map was created mostly from scratch. Credit to SargeantSarcasm. Special thanks to the few that helped test this map, especially Rg, who bravely tested the spawns that I put just a bit too high with his face. I created the original with TrueDarkFusion and I'm currently working on the remake. Lol. Even though I have the gametype created, and a Peasant Hunt - Reach version in mind. I'm curious to see how this works. Also, the original version allowed for the use of last man standing points because the minotaur was the zombie.
I've seen a few maps like these before both in reach and h3 but yours I'd definitely one of the better ones for sure. I love how you mixed things up a bit with the cave. Might I suggest making a part of the map natural (I'm not sure if this possible depending where it was forged but that would really set it a part from the others. I would also like to add that your gametype is very well made and I'm glad th peasants can actually Kip the minotour. I give it a download just because of the cave
Cool, I'm excited to see what you do. And I'll be taking notes, lol. Can't do last man standing points due to the bug where the round won't end if the zombie dies, so I have to make the Peasants the zombies. If I make another maze I'll definitely do that, lots of potential there. I'm already getting ideas about incorporating something like Powerhouse. Thanks for the complements.
It seems like I made the only straight up labyrinth on here. The other ones that I have seen on Forhehub, including this one, have a twist of some sort. The cave is awesome, and make this map stand out. Also, it seems like you made it a little more historically (would that be the right word in this case?) accurate, while I just made a random layout.
I decided to remove the unreachable turret rooms, they didn't really fit in and it was confusing to new players. I also lowered the spawns a bit because I had someone die from the fall earlier, thought they were low enough.
I haven't tryed the map yet but I like the premise of it. You should include a little backstory of the minotaur in your post to gain interest. Mythology is sooooo messed up.
i have downloaded this map andit is great for infection with the minotuar chasing you. so you have to make decisions quick which way you turn
Vary fun game! I got way into it and deleted the roof, to see the whole map, then picked my route. So when i went into the game, i knew exactly where to go. Anyways, good job! -JGarb Forge
