The gap

    It is setup for Team Slayer 4v4, it will be good for ctf game types, and king of the hill, just not right now.

    Description
    This map is medium symmetrical map, very open but has plenty of spots to take cover at. Power weapons are important. Base on each side, you can see through each base but can not shoot through. Has a Standoff like feel from Halo 3.

    Power weapons on map
    2 shotguns, rocket launcher, Human sniper, Alien sniper, grenade launcher.

    Location of power weapons
    Rockets in the middle, snipers on the side in the middle, and grenade launcher on the side with human sniper, and each side has a shotgun.

    It seems to look a little plain,

    Theres nothing realy making it look different to all those other maps out there with all the geomatry (mind my spelling) try puttin something in that will make your map a bit more unique, take your time and make every forge piece how you want it, try moving parts of the map about to see if they look better.

    Also from how you described i feel that the power weapons may be a bit to close together, try putting them in points where you wouldnt normally look, dont put the weapons in the ideal place for them (take pinnacle placing the sniper away from the sniper tower for example)

    My advice with this is to keep playing with it, add some asthetics, add a bit more cover and think about where your putting the weapons.


    PS: I forgot to mention but nice use of the gap :D

    I really want to know how it plays, I played with five people in the map and was still a lot of fun but not 4 on 4. I want to get down how people move through the map, and if weapons are to powerful for the map or not.

    It would be sweet if you could post a 4 on 4 game for me to download and watch if not
    o well.

    i'd like a birds eye view of the entire map but yes and something fancy because it's too boring and you have a bunch of budget i'm sure maybe even a vehicle perhaps? I don't like the random round incline with the glass sail it looks well... distastefull so mess around with and and you say u tested it with five people -_-... make sure you test it thoroughly and thoughtfully because other peoples input does help...

    I just walked through your map, and HMSGovier is right, you're map need something to make it unique. Right now, you just have the generic buildings and some ramps up to them. I like the location and the landscaping you've done on it, but the buildings really need something more to catch people' eyes. Also, the weapons in the middle are too close together. Try to find some mroe interesting spots that spread out or maybe just delete some, though I wouldn't call most of those weapons power weapons.

    I love the feedback don't get me wrong. I agree that it is pretty simple and not a lot of flare.

    I will try and mess around with the bases maybe make them bigger. I was also thinking about putting a platform above the gap some were that you could take a man cannon to from the bases and a ramp off to the side.

    As far as weapons go, I'm kinda stuck because it is a symmetrical map I need to make it fair. I could give both sides a snip just like the shotgun, and take out the grenade launcher.

    Once again I love the feedback. I will work on the changes and let you guys know.

    I don't know about the power weapons. What I was referring to was a section of rocks where there is like a dmr, a needler, a plasma repeater, and something else all within a 15 yd radius. In that area, I would suggest removing something. That's all. You'll have to ask the oher guys about a power weapon imbalance

    i think something that would really help is for you to have some form of walkway between a few of the bases. Connecting the bases makes them relevent where if they are off by themselves, they wont get much action.

    Also, what the other said about spicing up the bases. Make them your own. A good unique map with bases has them composed of many pieces so that they better fit the map. Think about how you want people to use the bases then focus your design on allowing them to do that.

    Alright guys I have updated the map.

    Updates:
    Both bases more fortified and bigger.
    Cleaned up the weapons in the middle of map.
    Add a new middle platform that now has the grenade launcher.
    Add more DMRs and Needler Riflers.

    Let me know what you guys think?

    I need some help play testing please let me know if you want to play my map and when we are done we should play test your map if you need it play tested.

    I will set up a time just need some people about 7.
