Complicated

    This is Complicated, my first official map on Reach. Well, actually it's my third map. This was actually a redone version of one of the first maps I did on Reach, but it was so bad I had to do a redone version of it. I have to say though I'm pretty pleased with it.

    This is basically a small-symmetrical arena, built for some basic gametypes such as Slayer (of course), CTF, King of the Hill, Assault, and more. At the moment, there's no weapons on the map. Why, you ask? Well, two reasons:

    1) I was too lazy to put some on there.

    2) I thought it would give more challenge to the map. About to run out of ammo? Kill someone else to get some, or get killed yourself if you have to. I know it's not a good thing, but I thought it would spice the gameplay up a bit.

    For some reason, I tried to go for more of a Goldeneye sort of throwback (even though I've never played it before) and I made the map close together, but in that way that you could navigate it properly. Sure, it may be too close, but that's why I added a second floor to it.

    The floors go like this:

    1st: Where all the main combat and team objectives lie. You could attack straight on forward and hopefully get the others in their tracks.

    2nd: To get to the second floor, I've placed two shield doors that when you jump near them, you'll be lifted up to the second floor. Here you can go to either side of the map by some sort of duct that goes straight into the front part of each base. They actually do work and I was actually surprised sometimes in the test games for this map.

    I'm sure that the description of this map isn't anything to run home about. This is my first time submitting a map to Forgehub and I'm just doing this on the fly. Maybe in due time, I'll get around to organizing this, but for now just download the map and have some fun.

    Welcome to forge hub! I like the idea of being able to just jump up into the shield doors to get to the second floor. However, it seems like it would get annoying if you're jumping in combat and you go up a floor when you didn't mean to, so I'd recommend making the lifts more closed off from the main walking routes of the map. Also I understand the desire to make a map with scarce ammo but it might be a bit bland if you can't pick up any ammo or other weapon types. Hope this helps without being too critical!

    Yeah, thanks for the tips. When I get the time, I'll place some weapons around the map. I do realize it kind of gets bland.

    And I'll try to find a way on making the lifts closed off from the main part of the map.

    Sorry for the double post guys, but I am making adjustments to the map. I think it was too early to release the map.

    You guys can play on it still, but along the way I'll make some minor adjustments and notify when a new version of this map will be playable.
