Hi, I wanted to have a soccer ball that continuously goes up and down. I set up a man cannon and the ball does what I want, however when the soccer ball gets purposely knocked off course it falls into the water and stays there. Is there any way to get the soccer ball to respawn after it has fallen into the water?
Golf and soccer balls have strange respawn traits... I believe they only respawn every five minutes regardless of what you have your respawn time set as.
Lets say the golf ball respawns every 5 minutes no matter whether its moving or it was still the entire time. If I have another golf ball spawning every 120 seconds set at start "no" will I run into trouble? I have a little system in my next map where a golfball essentially unlocks a power weapon and I need the golfball to respawn at the same time as the power weapon.

I like how everyone completely forgets how forge worked in Halo 3. Y'all remember the little blue dot? It tells the game what item, spawns where and in what orientation. And that dot has to take a moment to settle. It only settles when the item is stationary for long enough. You could place a double box and hit with something else, if you did it fast enough the first double box would move. Just because we can't see that dot and it no longer makes us center on it when we pick up an item doesn't mean it's not there. So, if you spawn something that remains in motion then the game thinks you have not let it go yet, therefore it does not settle until someone knocks it out of it's path and allows it to do so. Solution to OP, delay spawn the man cannons until you have the ball in place, then turn the delay off.
lol...I didn't mean to try and jack this thread. It is just kind of sad that my map can't function right w/o this and I was being a little bit selfish.
I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic. The OP isn't having a problem with the ball moving properly, he is having a problem with the ball not respawning quick enough/at all when knocked into the water.
I am able to get them to spawn in the right place and they successfully go through the man cannon cycle. The only problem is getting them to respawn once they get knocked into the water. I don't know how that can help, could you explain further? I don't really see how it would affect much. Oh, and I don't care if other people ask questions. These balls seem to be confusing to most people.
He's saying that the spawn point needs to stop moving, once it is settled, you can move it as you wish and it will spawn there. If the object is in motion from the very start, then when it gets knocked into the water, it will eventually roll to a stop. The spawn point will then spawn it down there, not where you placed it. So the issue is not it won't respawn, it just won't respawn where you want it to. Therefore, you place it where you want, before you place the man cannons. I don't usually mess with objects in the sense of what position they are in, but my suggestion is put it to phase/fix if you want it to spawn in mid-air(not sure if it will work with an object such as that but w/e), then wait 3-4 seconds, place man cannons, then put the position to normal. Again, I'm not sure if it will work because I don't mess with the positions but sometimes you have to mess with things before everything is right.
Oh that's what he meant. I thought that might cause a problem. However I played the map in customs and they spawn where i want them and do their thing. when I knock them into the water they do not respawn until about 4-5 mins. It appears Noxiw was correct. I do not know of any way to get them to respawn any quicker than the 5 mins. If anyone can figure something out that would be great. I'll have to go with the 5 mins for now.
