Somnus created by TEETMARE Somnus is a casual FFA map that I have designed in my spare time between more serious projects. Somnus is built above the barrier of Tempest, around the tower. It features a multi-level room design with walkways and such. I designed this to be a small map that you can load up and goof around on with friends when you can't find a big enough party to play larger maps. Its fun for 1V1 and 4-6 player FFA matches. It also supports KOTH, Infection, and Oddball. Check out the guide skisma and I wrote for forging outside of Tempest if you'd like to. Really good looking map. I'll play a custom game on it with a few friends. You got a really unique design. once again, This Looks really good. AWESOME JOB.
'Tis a shame all of the glitches tied to the outer boundaries, as this could've broke the limits necessary for a 'competitive' label. No matter, as the few games we got on here suffered from little to no issues. It truly is an interesting design displaying what's possible when taking advantage of the maps forbidden geometry. The spawns are good and there was a constant flow of action. Only sad part was when I only found the rockets at the end of the game, twas the same moment I got pwnt by them. Damnit. Good stuff man.
This map looks good but if you want more downloads you shouold probaly try putting the map under competitive...I was surprised to have found thise map under casual...
I remember playing on this. Your radar is pretty much useless on it lol. There will be people on like every level or behind walls, and its just impossible to use your radar effectively.
It's meant to be posted under Casual. Believe, Titmar knows what's he's doing. If either of you would have bothered to have read the whole OP you'd know this map can't be taken seriously. It was forged in the outer boundaries of Tempest which can often result in some interesting/game-breaking glitches. Therefore, it is non-advised to be played competitively.
correct. posting this map in Competitive would have just been a sad attempt to try and gain more downloads, and probably would have failed in the end anyway. to clarify for those who didnt read the OP and are now skimming the thread, forging outside of the boundaries of tempest presents some new glitches to deal with in customs. the only glitch present on this map is a couple invisible barriers that your grenades/rockets will backfire off of. The map played really well. I think we had six guys and it was perfect FFA madness. Know how to jump well if you want that sword!
haha yes indeed, the sword is in a tricky spot, but whoever gets it is temporarily a demon so... glad you enjoyed it, i enjoyed making it just as much. its fun to make a casual map and not take everything super seriously for once, haha.
