Hey Everyone, Here's a Nimitz Class aircraft carrier I did in the spirit of ships like the USS Abraham Lincoln. Very very impressive, Given my interest in making the CV-6, this map is invaluable to me as a show that it CAN be made. And your's is so much more impressive than what I have at the moment. Downloaded just because it's so... pretty and impressive. Except it's not up on your fileshare anymore.
Wow, pretty nice, i noticed a few overlapping flickering issues in the video though, maybe fix that, and don't the carriers have a small ramp at the end of the runway thing for the jets to take off with? maybe add a stunt ramp to the end
This is seriously impressive. The anti-air missiles and the strips on the landing pad were a very nice touch. I can tell that you have put a tremendous amount of effort and precision into this piece. I will make sure that some of the top names in forge see this.
Superb looking map! I like the overall look of the ship as well as the interior, weapons are a little rare but that's perfectly understandable being as the structure is so large. Definitely going to download.
thanx for everyones input. I just wanted to respond to some of the suggestions and comments. first w/ the scale of this carrier, it was extremely hard to free up pieces as well as money which is completely exhausted. That is the reason for scarce weapons. Make sure you find the rockets and laser though and adjust your slayer loadout for what you prefer. As for the runway being ramped. Some early classes of carriers were ramped and I believe some other countries still use that design. The Nimitz class carriers do not. I really don't know what to do about the flickering on the flight deck because I had to merge pieces for the propper shape. Lastly, despite all the aircraft, my friends and I have had a blast w/ slayer variants on this map w/ just 4 vs 4 but I would recommend big team battles.
Nimitz Class Aircraft Carriers do not have ramps on the end, British Royal Navy aircraft carriers do though.
Amazing build! the best aircraft i have seen by far. The only part i would change are the intreiors, maybe a dining area, maybe barracks, or a room full of missiles? I might be rambling but it is open in the interiors but i fully understand if you met the forgeworld budget. Good job!
In all it looks amazing, only complaint is for the rocket pods you made it would be cooler if you put a rocket warthog in it's place, allowing only access to the rocket part.
If you wouldn't mind freeing up your budget on this map, you could transform it into a capture the flag map where the opposing team has to go inside of the carrier, retrieve the flag, and get away. You could replace the pretend rocket launcher turrets with rocket launcher warthogs!
