Centrifugal V2 Video shows V1 only Video Preview V2 changes include -railings added to ramp hallway -bridge hallway slightly widened -lower bases walkways improved -needlers moved to bottom of lifts -shotguns added -name changed I am introducing Centrifugal, a map with a simple, symmetrical and well made layout with clean aesthetics reminiscent of Star Wars. Everything is color coded to help you orient yourself. The layout consists of a circle inside of a square, each corner is a 3-way junction joining the circle to the square. The center (circle) consists of 2 story inner and outer ring with bridges through the center pillar. The sides of the square are hallways with bridges and death pits below. Red and blue bases are opposite corners and have shield door lifts. Ok enough boring description for now, watch the video, view the pictures and try the map of course! But first, the weapons list -4 DMRs -2 Needle Rifles -2 Needlers -2 Grenade Launchers -2 Shotguns -1 Sniper Rifles -2 Plasma Grenades -4 Frag Grenades -2 Health packs -1 Overshield Upper Base- view from top of lift towards the 3-way junction. Center through the middle door, bunker overlooking bridge hallway through the right door and the ramp down to the ramped hallway through the left door. Lower Base- a 3 way junction connected by a central platform. The lift to the second floor is here. Ramped Hallway- this hallway provides access to the first and second floor of each base and links to the glass corner junctions. Bridge Hallway- the other access hallway to each base, this bridge is narrow and is guarded by a bunker window on the second story of each base. Glass Corner- the two corners that aren't bases are either a purple or orange corner that joins 2 hallways and the center much like the bases, but do not provide access to the second floor. There is however a second floor overlooking balcony. Glass Corner Closeup- A view of inside the glass corner, notice the health pack and grenade station to the right. Lower Center- a view from the glass corner doorway into the center of the first floor. Notice the doorway into the pillar which cuts through the center. Upper Center- a view from a base upper doorway into the center second floor. Down a short ramp is another bridge that cuts across the center of the map above the first floor bridge at an intersecting angle. The doorway to the glass corner balcony is seen to the left. Center Jump Up- a small lip to jump up that provides access to the overshield inside the pillar. Thank you for viewing, I hope you enjoy the map. This map looks very interesting...I like the layout. But you do realize that "centrifical" is not a real word,right? Not that that's a problem,per se...People name their maps all kinds of things...but I think the word you were looking for was "centrifugal". Anyway,I LOVED Empire,and I look forward to playing on this too!
You have a knack for creating unique playing spaces, that's for sure. This feels like an old school Halo CE map. I think of Prisoner and Damnation when looking through the video and photos. I would imagine headhunter, oddball and king of the hill to be great on this map. I'll have to get back to you on that for sure. Hopefully you've gotten a better understanding of the spawn system by now, which hindered Empire a bit in terms of game play. But I'll run through it and see if you need any assistance fixing things.
Thanks! I noticed firefox had to correct my spelling when I was posting but by then the name was already set so I figured at least the name is unique hehe. I'm glad you like it, I definitely wanted it to have a good layout over anything else rather than the totally random and strange layouts I have been seeing. I made sure to place a decent amount of respawns also but I think you will be able to tell if they are sufficient over me. A friend mentioned that headhunter would be cool on this also so I will definitely test it out when I can. I appreciate all the help!
I'm sorry, but isn't the word 'centrifugal'? On to the map, I like the 'lift/ladder' and the plasma turret is a nice change from a Human Turret. Looks like it would be a very fun 2v2 map, but maybe hectic for anything more. Will download and hopefully test, but I won't be online for a while so don't expect hasty feedback, lol. Also, a sniper is an interesting choice. Certainly not what I expected to see. Very interesting.. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Oooh! You created Empire? Yes I sorta made up a word lol, I'm glad you like it though. Its not terribly big but it can handle more than 4 people easily.
This map's design appears to be very innovative. I love three tunnels in the same place like that. It just looks very interesting to play on. It gives the map a feeling like you want to explore it I think. I'm going to download it, and I'm kind of selective about what I download because I feel like when I get too many maps under Forge World it becomes messy and unorganized lmao.
I think I and many others would consider this map a gem. Its very well made and the overall design blows my mind. The transition between being in a building and walking out side into a beautiful overlook was done extremely well. Nice work on the Glass cover pieces as well. I'm downloadin'!

Took a spin through this on in Forge.... Gotta say its pretty awesome. Very original concept you worked with here. Although I'm not a fan of such compartmentalized maps, I imagine this will play enjoyably. My only issue is that the 5x1 and 3x1 walkways are too narrow. Also, its too easy to fall off the map in some rooms.... Railings would be much appreciated.
Which locations in particular do you think need railings? I think the only area its a real hazard may be the lower bases. I tried to make sure the rest of the death pits were obvious enough so that you didn't fall unless you weren't being careful. Yes death pits can be annoying but that was one of the maps themes I suppose, its sorta hard to fence them all in with railings but I'll see what I can do.
Yeah, around the death pits is what I was meaning. You can balance "careful" when strafing in a heated DMR battle ya know.

This is a great design. I like the waterfall lift and also the little lip that lets you get to the overshield. I know you were going for a death pit themed map but i think the railings you added for v2 are a big improvement. nice work.
Damn, this is an impressive map. I love the design, it's very intricate. I agree with the other posters saying it looks like a Halo CE map. I'm definitely gonna give this a DL.
