Hello there people. Here is a new map I made which is like a Fallout 3 urban-wasteland. It's fairly large, and covers most of the Island section of Forge World. It's compatible with an invasion variant, and Spawns are bad. I couldn't figure out how to "turn off" a spawn zone after a certain phase. But that's ok, because it doesn't ruin gameplay. Now, I'll stop talking and show some screenies. First objective: A capture zone with a 20 second capture time. That shade turret is going to give you some serious problems, which will be solved later. Second Objective: Now, you're going to be angry with that shade turret(Vehicles are invincible), so you bomb it. Still second objective: Take the bomb and head up the tower, and plant it 3 stories below the turret. Once planted, you're going to have to jump off the building, or run like hell to get away in time. I decided to be fancy this time, and do a bit of spawning / despawning to make it look cool. When the bomb goes off, everything you were standing on despawns, and wreckage spawns in it's place. Final objective : Take the core from the top of one building and move it to another. And you haul it over to this building, and the game ends. Anyways, if you can help with the spawns, let me know, they're pretty bad now. Otherwise, I think it turned out ok. Use it with the custom gametype only, because it doesn't work so well in regular invasion.
dont know why no one commented on this, its actually lots of fun... only problem is... LAG!!! there are sooo many things rendering that with 16 people the game plays like crap
Hmmmm, very cool indeed. Of course, i'm a Fallout Junkie, workin' on a ruined world style map as well. This map seems to be well thought out, and when i get my copy of Reach, will download and comment....
Invasion is a 3-phase game type. If you want to make a respawn zone available during only one phase: (1) Place a hill objective on the map (the direction of the hill determines the respawn camera angle) - under "Advanced" properties: (2) Change the "Game Type Label" to Inv_Res_P? (P1, P2, or P3 depending on the phase you want it to be available for). (3) Set the "Spawn Sequence" to 0 for fire team 1, 1 for fire team 2, 2 for fire team 3, or 3+ for all fire teams. (4) You may want to make this item game type specific for invasion if you don't want this spawn showing up in any other game types and vice versa if you don't want any other spawns showing up in invasion. ** If you want a respawn zone to be available in both phase 2 and 3, change the label to Inv_Res_Zone and change the sequence to 2 so that it will not spawn until 2 and will remain there afterwards.
Hey when the "wreckage" re spawns, I wonder what would happen if you set physics to normal? Would the pieces fly around rather than just instantly change?
