Remade from the Super Nintendo's Super Mario Kart, Mario Circuit 1 is the first map of the Mushroom Cup. Collab created by both me and a friend of mine. This is actually my first race map for Reach, so don't expect a mind blowing map. It's somewhat bigger than I first wanted it, but it's not dreadfully scaled wrong, and in fact, I quite like it this size now after playing on it a few times. I forged the map at the highest point I could above the canyon so that the trees and mountains can make a good horizon view. (Much like the original Super mario Kart that had mountains and trees, though very few) "Pipes" are present to block your path. Anyone whose anyone remembers these killjoys from the original track. The actual road/track is actually pretty roomy to drive on. However, when going at high speeds, combined with the Mongoose's touchy handling, it almost seems as if it's too narrow, creating the perfect balancing between the original's Super Mario Kart's narrow road, and a more roomy area for the Mongoose's tight squeezes and turns.
is there anything preventing the players to cut the corners like the speed decrease on the sand on the original track?
^^ good question and this may be one of the most aesthetically boring map i have ever seen. effort is key in map building.
Well, nothing really aside from how tight the checkpoints are placed and it pretty much requires the player to stay on the track most of the time. And of course I left it blank aesthetically, it's a remake after all, it's the price you pay I guess.
wow the sea of plain gray is amazing. you should congratulate yourself for doing something that is so dull. Im sorry for that condescending tone but it is lacking of any decoration or feeling what so ever.
I get its a remake but I'm sure the original wasn't just a flat all Gray track and take some liberties to make it look good.
Its boring but only it is a remake. It looks exactly the same, some mario aesthetics would help set the seen, i just made the cloud for my mario map. I would also loose the large walls so that only the track remains and add some barriers . But on the whole its a true to game remake of a classic game mario kart.
Why would you remake this track? The original was fu'cking lame. Why would a remake be any different? I mean seriously, dude.
