    Tierra Rojada

What started off as a simple idea quickly turned into the map you're looking at now; make a big team battle map on the island. The map turned out very successfully, as it played very well in the final versions when they were tested. The symmetrical layout is very simple, and is somewhat similar to paradiso's: two bases, a large central structure in the middle, and a bridge on the other. I did make a conscious decision to avoid the mistakes that plague paradiso. The "mountain" that gets abused is unable to be gotten on top of, and the bridge is wide enough to comfortably fit a tank. I choose to scale the vehicles back a bit, but they're still a major driving force in the map (no pun intended). So there's the map in a nut shell, I hope you all enjoy!

(Please note that some pictures are a bit old, but everything major is in place)

Overview of the base. There are two mongi, a revenant, a rocket hog, and a plasma pistol at the base. The arches are there for cover.

That's the central structure, the hanger. It houses a falcon up top, and a rocket launcher down below.

The center bridge offer great cover from the falcon, a spot to ambush vehicles as well as a spartan laser. The lift leads to sniper spawn...

Here you can see how I blocked access to the mountain. Don't worry, there's kill zones up there.

And finally there's the grenade launcher spawn, which also comes with some sticky 'nades and a nifty little health pack.

Edit: My thumbnail isn't showing up even though I did what I think I was supposed to, so I could use some help with that.
    Edit 2: nvm I'm dumb

I like this map much more than default Paradiso. The death barriers keep the gameplay focused and more balanced by not allowing people on top of the mountain.

Also, the falcon, which most people go for, is balanced enough to where it can be dealt with by the plasma pistols in the base, and the other power weapons on the map. Overall, this map does an excellent job replacing the default Paradiso, and though the pictures don't do it justice, this is a surefire keeper on my harddrive.

Wow fail! Everything should be working now. Sorry it took so long as I've been quite busy. But thank you for pointing that out.

Ummmm... Just a question. Is "Rojada" mexican or spanish? Cause i'm half-spanish but don't understand it.

It's just the name of a place in California, twisted around a little bit to make it sound better. It's southern California so I assume the word I based it off of would be mexican as there's a lot of Mexican influence in thos southwestern states.

From what research I have done, its not a specific word, but a chain of clothing stores...

Haha! Funny coincidence, but there was really no thought that went into the name other then "does this sound cool and original?" That's quite an interesting ind, bu hopefully I can get some feedback on the map itself.
