I'm making my first map in Reach (Yes, late to do so but you know.... college and stuff.) And I'm trying to make a good FFA/Headhunter/Infection map and I think I have it down, I'll have to test on people in my dorm, but whenever the game starts I immediately die and it says I fell to my death. I think it's because my spawns are too far in the ground but I haven't been able to find a thread about this. (Also, whoever made the required objects thread THANK YOU, but could you put in something about having to change the gametype in the pregame menu, it took me forever to workout that changing the game there wouldn't just make it a custom game.)
Are you using safe zones and/or kill zones? If so read my post in this thread. If you are not, you could shoot me an invite to your game, GT is D0NT SH0OT ME, and I could fix it for you.
"could shoot me an invite" "GT is D0NT SH0OT ME" Lol. Anyways, yeah, I've seen this problem before. The problem is that if you spawn partially below the ground, even for a millisecond, you're touching a hard kill zone and die. I've played a few maps when this happens every now and then. Easily fixed, just grab the spawn point, press down and hold on your left thumbstick to use precision, and then click the right button once or twice.
Okay, thanks for the help guys, I think I can fix it on my own. I don't have Live so I'll have to do it myself. Edit: It worked! I fixed the spawns and the safe zones so it's all good.
Just for future reference, if your spawn points are sticking through the ground, try simpily designating their physics as normal. This will prevent them from falling through the ground and will also make them easier to place.
