i have created 2 diffrent Maps involving infection, i have had a few problems with forge before sayign the maps arent compatable so i tinker around with it and end up fixing it because i was missing something. anyways i will get on with the problem. I have Created 2 Seperate Maps with the Main Event being Infection. Both maps howevere do NOT work, i mean they do but dont. let me explain. the game allows me to play them but as soon as you Spawn (or Load) you die automatically. i have tried to prevent this by as soon as i spawn by activating Armor Lock, armor Lock Activated but i still died. i have deleted All Kill Zones and all Soft Kill Zones. i have asked friends that play the game with me and they are as puzzled as i am. they created there own infection map and it works for them, i just do not understand what is wrong. i have 1 Safe Zone that is my Safe Haven. i know it is hard to Fix this issue if you do not have a visual of what the actual cause is, but if you can throw some ideas my way i can try them out and see if it fixes my problem. i have looked all over the net for guides on making a forge map, hoping it includes something i missed. here are the basic details of my map. It has 3 Zombie Spawns, and 10 Zombie Respawns. it has 10 Human spawns and no Respawns. it has a small armoury, a few accesible Vehicles, Respawn zone around the map and all accisible areas are blocked off. this map was created on the Blank Canvas. any help is appreciated. Thank you
If you are using a hard safe zone and are not inside of its perimeter when you spawn you will die instanly. From what you posted I believe you do not quite know how a safe zone functions. There are two types of safe zone, hard and soft, and they are both used to set the playable area of a map. Safe zones do this by killing players that leave their boundaries. A player that leaves a hard safe zone will die instantly, while a player that leaves a soft safe zone will recieve the "return to battlefield" counter. Anyways to fix your problem highlight your safe zone, hit X, then edit the safe zones shape to encompase the entire playable area of your map. If the maximum safe zone size is not large enough, try using kill zones. These work exactly opposite of a safe zone, in that they kill anyone that ENTERS them. They are the same to safe zones in the hard and soft aspect however. Edit: If you are recieving the error message stating that the game mode is not compatible with your map, read this thread, it lists all required objects to make your map work. In the case of an infection map, you are required to have at least one object designated as inf_haven.
Thank you thank you for your responce, and i tried what you mentioned and it worked. thank you for helping.
You'll want to use a Hill Marker as your INF_HAVEN, and you'll need at least two for Safe Havens to function properly. Regular Infection requires only one.
