does anyone know how to have no weapon in reach forge and customs. i know about the invasion way but im not using invasion and that you can do it with a turret and a hologram but only if your the host. i need to be able to have 5-10 people do for machinimal purposes. can anyone help me?
1. Go into forge and place in a Mounted Machine Gun. 2. Go into custom game and have everybody pick the hologram ability at the start of the round. 3. Now after ripping off the turret's base, run backwards, jump, use the hologram and switch weapons at the same time. (If that doesn't work forget the switching weapons part) 4.If you're holding two weapons you'll have to repeat this procedure twice. 5. You're Done! I hope that this helped a little bit. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
dizzyman, he said he knew about the turret method, I didn't though so thanks for bringing that up Belly. As it stands, there isn't a method as simple as Halo 2's Oddball trick (one of the first things I tried in Reach, doesn't work). The only thing I can think of is getting 4 controllers on 1 Xbox and then do the scene several times with clever cinematography to create the illusion that there are actually more than 4 characters present. Or if you don't have 4 controllers then you'll have to rethink the scene. One of the aspects of machinima is working with what the game engine has to offer and within its limitations.
i was just wondering if there was a way as i would have made the scenes so nmuch easier to do :/. o well
I don't mean any offence to you, but that is the trap a lot of people fall in to. People assume that they can make easy movies just because Halo 3/Reach has a "Theatre Mode" and all they need to do is play a single game, play it as if its an RPG then record whatever happened in that game. I'm not saying that thats what you would do, but just remember that nobody is going to be mad that you spent a few extra weeks producing a good film rather than a few days producing rubbish
Could work in Invasion. Pick up two INV_GATES weapons, make sure they're the only weapons you're holding, and make sure you're still holding both when their Phases end and they get deleted. Bungie recommends not using INV_GATES on weapons, so obviously something glitchy will happen; the only logical glitch I could think of would be deletion of the weapons from a player's hands, potentially leaving the player unarmed.
I remember seeing machinima where they did this in forge world...Everyone came out really deformed lol
I havent tried this, but you could try the Halo 3 method: go into forge with you and a second controller signed in. At the same time, one player (human) picks up the weapon while the other player (monitor) deletes the weapon that is being picked up. The human will then lose the weapon that he/she just picked up and his other one will stay on his/her back.
You could use an empty sword like The Running Riot does. You just need to destroy 10 turrets / kill 10 people and your holding almost nothing.
