Wreckage

    So this is a map I made that has no real purpose but looks good. Thus it is in the aesthetic section. It's an urban-wasteland setting based off of Fallout 3, located in the canyon section of Forge World. Only supports infection, and I only have 2 friends that play Reach so I can't fix it up(yet)

    Will make it playable and compatible with CTF, Slayer, and maybe Invasion.
    Hopefully up by next week.


    Key areas:


    Metro Station: Originally it was going to have an underground subway system starting here, but I ran out of money, and plugged the opening underground with some rocks.

    Metro Station Interior: It's cramped, and gives off the general... destroyed feel. This city was after all, nuked. It's also a superb camping spot. I'm debating how to nerf it to acceptable levels.

    Delta Commercial Park: Main cluster of buildings. You can climb a few. Tallest one is 14 stories high. Good spot for sniping, but there is alot of cover for people on the ground/in other buildings to survive.

    Naval Recruitment Center: Was going to put the armory here, but ran outa money. It's now just a sad, worn 4-story building. But if you go through the ground floor you can reach the next street.

    And finally, 7th Avenue. It's destroyed, but traversable thanks to whats left of the monorail system. It also it the way to get onto the tower to the far right and climb it.

    And that's it. My first "destroyed" map that I've made. Maybe later I'll maybe it play-able or add objectives, spawning besides Infection, etc. Tell me what you think.

    Also, forgot to mention, in Safe Havens is going to be a hike to get to some of them.

    EDIT:Removed V2 to make room for a similarly themed invasion map.

    looks awesome! looks a little bit like the city in the movie 2012. anyways great job im looking forward to see this in infection mode

    Looks like a cool concept. The f/x makes it look a lot more realistic too. I'm almost 100% positive that this can be developed for gameplay. Maybe not in the competitive category but definitely casual. I highly suggest you look into it.

    i love the whole atmosphere of the map and its just fun to walk around in and explore i could totally see someone using this in a machinima but you really should make this map playable, i recommend ctf or some objective-based gametype but good job anyways

    Glad you like it. And I was going for a Fallout 3ish type of thing.

    Also, if you've played my map, where do you think I should put the Flags? I can't decide.

    I LOVED THIS MAP! I just wanted to walk around and take in the feel! Great job!

    I love this map. im a sucker for anything apocalyptic (which is morbid i know). Would I be able to use it in a short machinima vid? (credit listed at credits)

    Just a clue to what im working on: anyone familiar with the origional Appleseed Manga and the start of it? there ya go

    I had a forge-through a couple days ago(forgot to post a comment on this :p) and this is really cool. The idea and theme behind this map has a darker atmosphere which pairs well with the gloomy filter.

    Some of the buildings I thought could have been filled in (walls and such); it looks strange to see all these buildings without any walls but their supports somehow intact. Still, good job I think I might make something like this for a machinima.

    I love the idea you have going here. It does give the destoryed feel, and I love how each building can be still gone in, though wrecked, and used as cover. I might've shown what each building was a little more and give each one its own personality, but hey, it looks fantastic! 8.5/10

    The idea was the nuclear blast blew away everything except the support structure of the building, and threw it on the streets below. But I'll put in walls and such and in general make the building more exciting then just 5x5 blocks and railings.
    Thanks for the feedback. I'll be fixing it up tonight, so hopefully you'll be able to identify what said building was, and (Generally) what happened to it.

    Well, I'm new and this is my first post so bear with me. I was looking around ForgeHub(Which seems awesome) and saw this map which caught my eye for some reason. Anyways, I just finished looking around it, and it's really cool alright. I love the feel the map gives off, and the filter pairs well with it.
    However, someone said this before me, but what were the buildings? It would be nice and make it alot more immersive/grim if you did. Also, maybe add a parking garage? For some reason I think it would fit well with this map.
